Good spot for breakfast

We ate breakfast here twice during our recent stay in Boston. Thornton’s is close to the Sheraton and several other hotels in the Prudential-Copley Plaza area. The breakfast menu had a wide variety of options. We found the restaurant to be comfortable, the servers friendly, and the food good.

My boyfriend and I went to Thornton's for lunch. The waitress we had immediately seemed frantic and a little confused. I ordered water, and my boyfriend ordered iced tea. We said we needed a little while to decide, but after we said that it took her quite a while to come back and take our order. I had questions about... More

SERVICE. There are some basics of good service that seemed to be forgotten here: 1) Helpfulness. If a customer doesn't like an ingredient on a dish and requests if it can be removed, the server shouldn't be shocked or try to change the order especially if you want an omelette without an specific ingredient. Pretty simple. 2) Attention to customers'... More

Great spot for breakfast. Menu is substantial. Service and food are both wonderful. Probably the reason people queue to get in here

It must have taken some real indifference to have every item taste bland. Got the "Crazy Twos" which was two of everything. Scrambled Eggs didn't taste like eggs. Sausage was somehow cooked without any browning whatsoever. Did they boil or microwave them. Bacon was limp. Pancake was dry and doughy. Home Fry Potatoes were OK but not browned at all.... More

Very good simple inexpensive breakfast. Nothing too fancy. I enjoyed it. Located near Marriott Cooley Square. The waitstaff is very friendly.

Went to breakfast on Saturday. Line out the door. Food very good, fast and friendly efficient staff. Owner came over and spoke to us. Unfortunately didn't have time on this trip to go back. If you are in the area stop by.

It was Sunday morning and we were in Boston for the marathon on Monday and had heard about Thornton's Restaurant which was in walking distance of our hotel. There was a line outside the door when we arrived but didn't have to wait too long to be seated. All the employees that we had contact with were super nice and... More

Thorton's is nestled in the heart of the back bay district in walking distance from many of the hotel in the area. The value was superb in my opinion; they give you a lot of food for what seemed like a very reasonable price. The pancakes were recommended to me and they didn't disappoint!
