Breakfast worth the wait

Generous portions and variety make this an affordable stop for breakfast. All of the items ordered in our party were well enjoyed.

Went here twice for breakfast and the service and food was amazing! I had pancakes and they were huge and then the next time I had strawberry crepes. Customer service was really good and it was proper American food, like what I've seen on tv! Didn't go for lunch by the menu looked good and it's open until 4.

We went in it was a great window seat with lots of sun and people to watch outside. The food was ok. The chicken was dark meat only, the pickles had no flavor. The other items were fine but nothing special. With the pru and so many choices near by I think I would just pass.

I got the Philly Cheese Steak with bacon and fries it was beyond great it was amazing! My friends got a Chicken Parmesan sandwich and a Turkey Reuben Sandwich and loved them. The decor isn't great but it makes up for it with the food. Our server was very courteous and helpful.

Thornton's was a block from our hotel, so we tried it for breakfast on Sunday morning. We were, as it turns out, wise to get there around 9 a.m. By about 9:45, and until at least 11, the lines of 20 or so people were well out the door, in 20F temps. It's a popular place, and we could see... More

Thornton's was recommended to me by nearby hotel staff. On a Saturday morning, it was of course crowded and had a bit of a wait. The interior is kind of drabby, but food was definitely satisfactory! Service was ok. Locals seemed to love it. Lots of young students dining. Very reasonably priced.

My husband and I wanted a late breakfast during our stay in Boston. We ended up at Thornton's, which was right down the street from our hotel. We waited in line for quite a while to get a table, but it was a gorgeous fall day, so we didn't really mind. Plus, the staff was incredibly friendly. I somehow ended... More

Fast and friendly service, reasonable prices, plenty of food and an endless cup of good, strong coffee.

Went by the reviews to go to this restaurant but didn't enjoy it. Just okay. The service was very slow and there was hardly anyone there. Ordered the vanilla almond french toast. Couldn't taste the vanilla almond flavor at all. Tasted almonds only when I ate the almonds on top. Ordered "fresh squeezed orange juice" on the menu. Saw her... More
