Great place for lunch

Work right around the corner and the 21st is a great place for a quick weekday lunch. Service is quick and friendly and food is good. Favorite is the 21st burger with sweet potato fries. Also like the southwest salad and fish and chips.

My husband and I stopped in on our first day in Boston last year. We were warmly greeted by another patron, a regular, who moved over one seat so my husband andI could sit together .As we waited for our server our new friend guided us through the menu, the burgers were delish and the beers iced and plentiful! We ate here on a Friday night before 6:00. It did get busy there. A small place next to the state house. Nice location. Good pub food.

Good selection with local options in a nice woody old style pub. Easy walking distance to most of the downtown hotels. A fun stop for a quick beer.

Stopped in one afternoon for a quick bite before heading out on a walking tour. Sat at the bar as I was dining solo. Enjoyed the atmosphere, the food was delicious (short rib quesadilla) and close to the condo I stayed in on Beacon Hill. It gets really packed after work, but I'd definitely recommend the 21st Amendment!

Twice I've been to Boston, and twice I've ended up in the 21st Amendment. There's a great selection of beers, hardworking and friendly staff, plus food that's as tasty as it is well portioned.

2nd day for a work event - 2nd time out to a different spot for lunch. Busy restaurant/bar right off Beacon Hill. Sat at bar as it was busy. Addressed immediately by waitress and Yasmine Bleeth look alike. Ordered chicken club - served with sprouts, avocado, bacon on nicely toasted bread. Cooked just like I wanted it. Served with too... It looks un assuming from the exterior but when you walk in you can feel the history. It is right near a government building so there are always lots of interesting people in there. The night we were in there, there was a group of John Kerry's aids negotiating / debating on some policy. We overheard the waitress speaking to... More

We ducked into this gem for lunch. Although I did not have a burger, it will be the very next thing I try after watching burger after burger go by my table, stacked high with fresh condiments and gorgeous looking fried onion rings on top. I had a delicious BBQ chicken salad. Niece had a decadent braised beef grilled cheese... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
