Off a side street - locals eat here for lunch during the week - smaller - PERFECT! My most favorite bar of Boston! Plenty of locals to make fun of my Midwestern accent ;)). Good food, reasonable prices. Walking distance from the public gardens/parks, yet, just off the beaten path.

I've been here several times and everything I've tried here is delicious. A huge step up from your standard bar fare. Definitely recommend the sliders and you can't go wrong with the nachos. Staff and customers are so friendly! Perfect place for lunch or afterwork drinks.

This bar reminds me of a small bar in London, called Holly Bush. We just had cocktails here, and felt it was fun and comfortable. It was fairly early, so not crowded. We were visiting our son, so it was really nice to sit and have a drink and be able to talk with him.

This place is a little bit of a hole in the wall, but the service was decent and the food was great, We went there on a thursday, when the special was the lobster mac and cheese, which I highly recommend. The bar seemed average sized, but busy, which is a good sign for an old place. The building is... More

Nice and cozy, while located in historic Beacon Hill area of downtown. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Best pub fare I've ever had in the city. Great selection of drinks and the bartenders can make anything you desire. Patrons in the bar are also very friendly and it's not a college scene despite being located next to campus. Order... More

Greasy food, poor service, Nachos were not even hot but the cheese has melted and already cooled by the time they got to our table.

I have been going to the 21st for years now and continue returning for various reasons. 1. The atmosphere. This place is perfect for a cozy spot in the winter and a getaway from the heat in the summer. With a very warm and inviting bar/dining room area, each person walking into the 21st will feel like they are at... More

I went to this tavern-style place a bunch when I lived in the neighborhood. It's dark, it's off the beaten path a bit, so you don't come across too many people here. The burgers are really good, but as some of the other posters mentioned, the service can be kind of slow. But the burger I think is worth the... More

We've gone here for lunch on many trips to the state house - good food and fast service... but this time it took over an hour to have the daily special. People around us were having a very hard time getting their bill so we asked for ours while we were still eating... we still waited until long after we... More
