Great food in a classic diner.

We had chowder, Monte Cristo sandwiches and chocolate French toast. Loved it and my daughter has a blast. They even have a free coin operated pony ride outside.

The South Street Diner is hands down the best diner I have ever been to! There is absolutely no comparison to this spectacular diner. The wait staff was very friendly and amazing! The owner is also very friendly. I'm pretty sure there has never been less than a block line out the door it's so good.

Woah this was awesome. We stumbled across the diner by accident. We arrived at our hotel after their restaurant had closed but then advised that the diner would deliver. Ordered a sub which was out of this world. Went for breakfast. Started chatting to Sol who turns out to be the owner and tells us how much he loves Tim... More

Pretty dirty, even for a diner. The food took forever to come out, and we could see that the cook was having some sort of hissy fit about something-or-other, which we guessed was the hold-up on the food. Our server was kind and felt badly about how long the food took to come out. It's kind of dark/too dimly lit,... More

I was at the lunch counter and asked the waitstaff for a menu 3 or 4 times and finally asked again when a waitress(after the walking right passed me at a very small place) for the menu. She did not offer it to me as she told me the the menu changed over and now it is more expensive.

We had a wonderful breakfast here. I had the Diner Special - 3 eggs, 2 pancakes, home fries, 4 pieces of toast, corned beef hash, and a slice of banana bread - all for $12! We were seated on a busy Saturday morning at the counter and had a front row seat to watch the cooks put out really beautiful... More

Yes. Always yes. I got the choc chip pancakes: they were fluffy with plenty of chocolate chips, just as you'd want them. My advice is to share one portion between two though because it is nigh on impossible to complete a plate alone (and I'm a man with an appetite). Great way to start the day. Always add bacon. #syrup... More

We needed an early breakfast and had a short walk to South street. Food is what you expect and service was great (cool and funny guy).

I was born and raised in Boston. The last time I ate at a true diner was over 60 years ago. Brought back great memories. I had ham and eggs and my wife an omelet. Both were delicious. Our waitress,Tracey, a true Bostonian was so friendly and attentive. You can be sure the next time we visit Boston, we will have... More
