Intimate Italian dining in the North End. Large open front overlooking all the action on Hanover St, the main street in the North End. Marble tables, brick walls, large Black and White photos of the family in Sicily. This is truly like taking a trip to an Italian restaurant in a little Italian village. The menu offers a combination of the styles of the Chef / Owner's family, and modern inspiration and applications. We are always striving to keep our food fresh, flavorful and true to our culinary traditions.

This is a cozy (small) place in the middle of the north end. Read other reviews and gave it a try. There are maybe 12 tables in this place, easy to miss. The staff was very friendly and hospitable. Place had good atmosphere, you can see some of the kitchen. Reasonably priced. But the food was kind of average. My... More

We waited a loooooooong time because we failed to make a reservation early enough. So we ended up with a 930PM time slot. Well, the wait was well worth it. Very small and quaint. Fits in very well with all the local Italian eateries. Tastefully decorated and very inviting. Great view of the street for some fun people watching. Service... More

Being not only vegetarian but trying to watch your weight is hard in the North End. This lovely restaurant is no exception. Our waitress was nice to help us though and steered us to lower calorie and higher taste items for vegetarians and our thanks. We started with two glasses of Cabernet Franc for $16 and an arugula salad for... More

In Boston for our anniversary, at the last minute we saw a video review that convinced us to cancel our existing reservations and go to Carmelina's instead, and were absolutely delighted. Our taxi was hung up in traffic when I remembered that, In my excitement, I hung up before giving them our name for the reservation. We arrived a little... More

I had dinner here on Sunday 12/07/14. i had a reservation, which i HIGHLY recommend for you to make one, and even though i was a few minutes late i was seated right away. Since the moment i walked in, everyone was engaging, funny, caring, and very attentive. The service really sold this place to me, but ofcourse the food... More

We walked in off the street on a Friday night. The place was buzzing. There were no tables available but the hostess said two seats would open up at the bar in about 25 minutes. That was our preference anyway; the bar overlooks the kitchen where the chef is chefing. It's the best seat in the house. The hostess took... More

We chose this restaurant based on Yelp reviews. I was a little disappointed that the menu was completely different to what they display on their website. The atmosphere was lovely and the food was great but our first server wasn't the best. She asked for our drinks order and only listened to one of us before walking away and not... More

I have never been to Italy. I do, however, have many Italian friends. My taste buds have eaten many meals cooked by them, and their parents and aunts who are transplants from Italy. Carmelina's gives you those flavors, and more. We had reservations and were seated by the window - with the wall of windows open. It was a bit... More
