Description: Intimate Italian dining in the North End. Large open front overlooking all the action on Hanover St, the main street in the North End. Marble tables, brick walls, large Black and White photos of the family in Sicily. This is truly like taking a trip to an Italian restaurant in a little Italian village. The menu offers a combination of the styles of the Chef / Owner's family, and modern inspiration and applications. We are always striving to keep our food fresh, flavorful and true to our culinary traditions.

I had dinner here on Sunday 12/07/14. i had a reservation, which i HIGHLY recommend for you to make one, and even though i was a few minutes late i was seated right away. Since the moment i walked in, everyone was engaging, funny, caring, and very attentive. The service really sold this place to me, but ofcourse the food... More

We walked in off the street on a Friday night. The place was buzzing. There were no tables available but the hostess said two seats would open up at the bar in about 25 minutes. That was our preference anyway; the bar overlooks the kitchen where the chef is chefing. It's the best seat in the house. The hostess took... More

We chose this restaurant based on Yelp reviews. I was a little disappointed that the menu was completely different to what they display on their website. The atmosphere was lovely and the food was great but our first server wasn't the best. She asked for our drinks order and only listened to one of us before walking away and not... More

I have never been to Italy. I do, however, have many Italian friends. My taste buds have eaten many meals cooked by them, and their parents and aunts who are transplants from Italy. Carmelina's gives you those flavors, and more. We had reservations and were seated by the window - with the wall of windows open. It was a bit... More

We were strolling around and stumbled upon this little unassuming Italian restaurant. the ambience was quaint and relaxed. The menu was short and familiar. We had the meatballs, seafood risotto and Sunday macaroni. It was awesome! No time for coffee since there are so many desert places surrounding this place. I will return next year!

Small place with open layout, so expect to leave smelling of food and smoke. That aside, service was cordial and very efficient. Meatballs appetizer and Pesto pasta with seared tuna were amazing. A bit n the salty side for the latter, but overall a great meal. They don’t offer dessert.

Had dinner here recently. Bread was great, meatball appetizer ridiculous! Had the Sunday Macaroni . . . huge serving with sausage, meatballs and short rib. So delicious! Did not have the service issues that others mentioned but it was a Sunday and not too busy. Although I would recommend, I have had better meals in Boston's North End. Still, can't... More

While the food was quite good it couldn't compensate for our rude server. She was condescending and dismissive. It was as if she were doing us a favor by serving us. We will not be returning.

We were hoping to get into some of the more "high-profile" Hanover street spots, but ended up at Carmelina's on a hunch when the other spots were full. The place is fairly intimate but very pleasant, and we were lucky enough to get a seat at the bar in front of the open kitchen. Watching the chef flip and toss... More
