I was walking thru Charlestown and stopped in for lunch. I tried the chicken satay, which was tender and perfectly marinated. I also had the chicken hot basil. I love Thai food but most of the time the chicken has been over cooked and is tough. This chicken was as tender and delicious as it gets. The entire dish was... More

I got the crispy Pad Thai, would not recommend. The service was horrible. We got forgotten in the front corner. Poor service and mediocre food equals an experience I won't have twice.

I walked about .8th of a mile from where I was staying as there aren't many eateries in the neighborhood. I found it to be in a nice neighborhood. The restaraunt was in a comfortable space. It was not overly busy but the take away was as it was a Saturday night. The food was reasonably priced, portion was the... More

I've reviewed over 25 Thai restaurants, and this is my first "Poor" rating. We were driving into downtown and decided to avoid parking for lunch by stopping here. The salad was iceberg and featured two hard boiled egg halves that looked like they had been in the fridge for a vey long time. My pineapple fried rice was greasy/oily and... More

My wife and I had spent the morning walking the northern portion of the Freedom Trail and needed a lunch break. After a quick search for places to eat, the choices were pizza, sandwiches, or Thai. Since we live right next to a Thai restaurant back home, I wasn't too keen on having Thai for lunch. But since Sonia didn't... More

Friendly and personal touch makes this a repeat dinner spot. I meet friends who live locally every few months. I order something different each time - this time, the crispy pad thai. The server asked if I knew how that was going to be presented and wanted to be sure that I knew the noodles would not be soft. My... More

Pad Thai was pretty inedible. Prosecco was served in a half pint beer glass. Overcharged on bill and took an age to rectify. Need I say more? Really needs to up it's game.

I'm feeling mean. I would like to give this place a 4 and it's almost there but not quite in "very good" land. That said I would definitely welcome it as a great place to dine in an area of Boston that really doesn't have enough eateries. The tofu and vegetable rolls as an appetizer were OK but small, and,... The pad thai was flavorful and the noodles perfectly cooked. We shared a shrimp stir fry that was also well prepared. If we're back in the area, we'll try the delivery!

We moved to Charlestown eight years ago. We ate at Chow Thai a few times, but weren't impressed. We took a hiatus of a few years, and when we returned to Chow Thai - wow! What an improvement! It may not be the best Thai food I've enjoyed, but it is very good, and they deliver (quickly). I love the... More
