I don't know Cuban food all that well, except when it comes to Cubanos. I've had them in many settings with large local Cuban populations, and love the sandwich. El Oriental does it right. Their Cubano-especial with everything is a delicious, fresh, and filling lunch. The service is very pleasant and efficient. I'll eat here once every other week.

I discovered this place on my last year of college, and it's still the place we go to for consistent, delicious, Latin food from the Caribbean. The place is touted as Cuban, but it has gems from Puerto Rico and the Dominican republic (The cuisines are millimeters apart). The Congri and Carne frita is nostalgic. The Mofongo is one of... More

Nice place to find to have a best possible coffee in an area! The staff are very friendly an helpful and addressed all needs while making a special coffee. There is cozy seating area infront of the place, so during goid weather you can seat and injoy your cap of coffee out side.

One of the friendliest and tastiest food experiences ever. Terrific neighborhood restaurant. Great for a family with little kids.

First things first: This place has the best flans you will get anywhere: deep sexy caramel taste that makes you crave for more! I also had a Cuban steak sandwich -- crispy bread, delicious insides, utterly Cuban and terrific!

El Oriental de Cuba has finally allowed us to satisfy our craving for Cuban food in Boston. A year ago, my wife and I had our first exposure to Cuban food in Key West, FL. Since our return home to Boston, we have been searching for a Cuban restaurant in the area. We finally found one in El Oriental de... More

This is a terrific neighborhood restaurant. The staff is extraordinarily friendly, and attentive to customer's needs and wants. I was extremely impressed by the selection and variety of food. It was notable that both typical Cuban dishes were intermixed with daily specials. This is a very affordable, excellent restaurant.

I love the food here--the service can be dicey when it gets busy. Regulars get treated a little better than the average walk in. Try the cuban sandwiches, cafe con leche, chicken fricasee, ropa vieja..

I grew up on Cuban food made by my abuela, and now get my fix during periodic visits to Miami. As a result I was really eager to try this restaurant, hoping for authentic Cuban dishes. I found El Oriental to be authentic in vibe and menu, and service was excellent. However, the dishes themselves weren't quite up to par.... More

Great service. But I've had better Cuban food in Kentucky, which was surprising. However, those who ordered seafood seemed to enjoy their meals the most.
