Good Thai

I ordered takeout country style pad Thai and fried egg rolls. The egg rolls had a delicious flavor and were unlike any I had had before. The country style pad Thai was good and a huge portion. I'm not sure what makes the country style different from their standard pad Thai, but it did have... read more

Passed by the restaurant the other night, it was packed with people, thought it should be good. But I am very disappointed. I used to have a Thai friend who happened to be a very good cook. I know what Thai food should be. The food from this restaurant doesn't even close to Thai. The dish was greasy, salty, &... More

I always referred to Brown Sugar food as the best refined Thai food in the city. I've coming to the place for many years and food was always good and service almost perfect. This year, it's been getting worse. Food was just OK. The service wasn't bad, but got worse too. Not sure what's going on. Hopefully, it's all seasonal.

Way too sweet, not authentic Thai. Very few northern Thai choices - disappointing to say the least. Cocanut Thai in Wellesley Hills is a much better choice as is Green Papaya in Waltham. Thai North in Brighton is much much better choice.

I checked out Yelp and TripAdvisor reviews for Thai restaurants while I am attending a conference in Boston, and found great reviews for Brown Sugar Cafe. They are well-deserved! I was seated promptly, water with lemon arrived immediately, and three different servers asked if they could take my drink order before I had had a chance to read the menu.... More

Great thai restaurant. Good value. Ate here probably much more than I should have while studying at BU.

Our family loves Thai food, but there seem to be little differences from one restaurant to another. Brown Sugar surprised me when they took the same Thai menu found everywhere and kicked it up several notches with incredible flavor. We were pleasantly surprised when we walked in to a table of Buddhist Monks chanting (this was just after the restaurant... More

I have been to Brown Sugar several times and have always been pleased with the food and service. Their menu is huge and they offer traditional Thai dishes and others with a more Westernized flare. The portions are good size- I usually end up having leftovers. My go-to is the yellow curry. Take out is available and prompt.
