The food is delicious! Long story short, I ate here as a BC student and I've been back here several times as an alum. Chipotle and Boloco (sorry Bostonians) don't even come close.
Giving the fact that on this side of the world is pretty hard to get the ingredients to make authentic Mexican food, I think this guys do a pretty good job. They do try to have other than the typical Tex-Mex burritos, makes me very happy to see tamales in the menu. It is ok priced (considering how much you... More
Better than Anna's. This place is cheap, tucked away behind Fenway Park so it's great to go before a ball game. The food is better than Anna's---Less Greasy! The plates, rice and beans, have tremendous flavor. Anna's plates are rather bland. If you're in Fenway, hit it up, you won't be disappointed.
El Pelon is probably one of the best Mexican restaurant in Boston. Although it is not really a restaurant,(self-service, small seating area..) the food is inexpensive, authentic and very delicious! Grilled steak and fish burritos are my two favorites. Definitely stop by when you're in Boston!
Great place for a quick meal. We usually go there for lunch. Don't expect to find a seat at 12:30 though. It's one of the few places that serve plantains.
El pelon is truly the best in town, in my and my friends' opinion! Their offerings are affordable, well portioned, and most importantly, delicious and authentic. Every ingredient is cooked to full flavor, and their combination balanced and heavenly. I love their tortas, quesadillas, burritos... You name it!
Great value Kid Freindly great kids prices under $3.00 for a good sized kids meal. Menu is not a typical burrito menus
Went to El Pelon last night for a late dinner. I still can't get over how good the Pescado burrito is. Fully stuffed, little bit of crema and hot sauce. Boom! There ya go. Chips and salsa excellent as well. Definitely a step up from Ana's. Worth the extra ride to BC.
Terrific small taqueria near Boston College. Very fresh ingredients. Few tables and a brisk take out business. Very inexpensive. No table service. Self serve drinks. Mostly younger crowd, My son had a chicken burrito and my husband and I had chicken enchiladas. We shared chips (a little salty), salsa and guac (all homemade and very tasty) and a side of... More
One of my new favorite places!! Parking can be tough but worth it. Kind of small so not necessarily good to sit and eat except in warm weather when they have outdoor seating available but the food is by far the best Mexican I have had! Fish tacos are to die for!! Prices are inexpensive as well.
