Pretty good tacos and burritos

Pretty good Mexican food. Very popular among the BC crowd considering its location(me included in this group). Tacos are good and have interesting ingredients in them. Not a fan of the tortilla they use but other than that they are great. Burritos and quesidillas are very good despite quesidillas being a little on the greasy side. I always go back!

Looks like a typical college joint. The service was fast and outdoor seating is nice. The food is ok, but not great. I had a carnitas burrito. The filling was good quality and fresh. I just thought the meat could have been seasoned better and it needed a little zip. I ahte saying this, but either Moe's or Chipotle makes... More

We were visiting Boston for the Marathon week. Ended up going here. We are vegetarians with Gluten restriction. We really enjoyed the food here. It was so delicious and fresh. The hot sauce and crema were great. Would definitely eat here again. Staff was friendly. Main clientele are kids from Boston College.

The Boston area has a dearth of Mexican/Central/South American restaurants. Thank goodness we have El Pelon. Tasty, well prepared offerings and they are not afraid to turn up the heat if you ask for it. The staff if terrific, upbeat and always eager to please.

Since my daughters moved on to their college life, the area is not frequented as much. However, my daughter and I grabbed a quick lunch there this week and the food did not disappoint. The prices have not been raised, it's been at least five years since my last visit, and the atmosphere was just as friendly. Highly recommend for... More

This was my second visit to El Pelon Taqueria. I am lucky enough to live closely and could walk there. I ordered takeout. Service was quick; wait staff were friendly and helped to guide our choices. The dishes my friend and I ordered were delicious and freshly prepared. Two of us split 3 dishes and there were leftovers. We tried... More

Great eatery, not pretentious, close to authentic food. We had a house special with fish (two large tacos with fish, which is the size of this portion, is definitely enough for lunch!). Our daughter had a burrito. Yummi! I won't call this a hidden gem or the best tacos ever, but would definitely recommend if you are in or close... More

So, I am from California and moved to Boston after living in San Diego for 4 years. I really miss having good Mexican here on the East Coast and was eager to try out El Pelon. I was not disappointed! I ordered 2 carne asada tacos, chips/salsa and horchata. The horchata wasn't great but the tacos and chips were excellent.... More

Can't go wrong with any choice on the menu. Each ingredient is cooked so perfectly - the meat, beans, the moist buttery rice (!)... El guapo burrito and pescado burrito are real treats, as well as the all veggie calabacita burrito! Platos and others also recommended.

El Pelon has gigantic, delicious burritos. Normally I don't like burritos that are too big. They get messy, the fillings aren't distributed right, etc. However, El Pelon's burritos are so flavorful that I am happy to have a bigger serving (if I can eat past the fullness). They have really good plantains as well and you get enough to share.... More
