Since my daughters moved on to their college life, the area is not frequented as much. However, my daughter and I grabbed a quick lunch there this week and the food did not disappoint. The prices have not been raised, it's been at least five years since my last visit, and the atmosphere was just as friendly. Highly recommend for... More

This was my second visit to El Pelon Taqueria. I am lucky enough to live closely and could walk there. I ordered takeout. Service was quick; wait staff were friendly and helped to guide our choices. The dishes my friend and I ordered were delicious and freshly prepared. Two of us split 3 dishes and there were leftovers. We tried... More

Great eatery, not pretentious, close to authentic food. We had a house special with fish (two large tacos with fish, which is the size of this portion, is definitely enough for lunch!). Our daughter had a burrito. Yummi! I won't call this a hidden gem or the best tacos ever, but would definitely recommend if you are in or close... More

So, I am from California and moved to Boston after living in San Diego for 4 years. I really miss having good Mexican here on the East Coast and was eager to try out El Pelon. I was not disappointed! I ordered 2 carne asada tacos, chips/salsa and horchata. The horchata wasn't great but the tacos and chips were excellent.... More

Can't go wrong with any choice on the menu. Each ingredient is cooked so perfectly - the meat, beans, the moist buttery rice (!)... El guapo burrito and pescado burrito are real treats, as well as the all veggie calabacita burrito! Platos and others also recommended.

El Pelon has gigantic, delicious burritos. Normally I don't like burritos that are too big. They get messy, the fillings aren't distributed right, etc. However, El Pelon's burritos are so flavorful that I am happy to have a bigger serving (if I can eat past the fullness). They have really good plantains as well and you get enough to share.... More

The food is delicious! Long story short, I ate here as a BC student and I've been back here several times as an alum. Chipotle and Boloco (sorry Bostonians) don't even come close.

Giving the fact that on this side of the world is pretty hard to get the ingredients to make authentic Mexican food, I think this guys do a pretty good job. They do try to have other than the typical Tex-Mex burritos, makes me very happy to see tamales in the menu. It is ok priced (considering how much you... More

Better than Anna's. This place is cheap, tucked away behind Fenway Park so it's great to go before a ball game. The food is better than Anna's---Less Greasy! The plates, rice and beans, have tremendous flavor. Anna's plates are rather bland. If you're in Fenway, hit it up, you won't be disappointed.

El Pelon is probably one of the best Mexican restaurant in Boston. Although it is not really a restaurant,(self-service, small seating area..) the food is inexpensive, authentic and very delicious! Grilled steak and fish burritos are my two favorites. Definitely stop by when you're in Boston!
