Get the bread and the pepper juice

Loved it! We were seated at the bar, avoiding a line at the door. The bartender was a little cranky, but we managed to soften her up by talking about life in Northern NY. A local, Chris, had us order a pizza and bread and pepper juice. Good advice! The bartender hesitated, as were weren't locals... read more

This place is a true gem. There is no better place in Boston to have an authentic experience of pizza and beer. Just a short walk from the Blue Line, Santarpios is worth the excursion and East Boston is cool too. We love The Works without anchovies and hope to order the skewers next time we visit. Do NOT miss... More

Simple good thin crust with a good red sauce. No skimping on the garlic here, and no crazy, trendy toppings - good solid stuff, cash only.

Very good Pizza, likely the best I have had in Boston. Also had Skewers of sirloin tips with Hot peppers a house specialty. Beef was awesome. Kind of a dive neighborhood joint that has been there forever. Cash only. Service is slow but friendly. I would return.

We have been dying to try this pizza parlor for a while so we were in the area and stopped by for lunch. The place has a small parking area(under overpass). Its a tiny dated place with nice wait staff a has great dance music to listen to. We ordered a pizza with the works (minus the anchovies). My son... More

We dropped into Santarpio's from a friends recommendation. The decoration doesn't say much, a no frills neighborhood restaurant one would say. Pizza selection while not large, hit the right stroke with me, by including anchovies pizza. I believe that a restaurant that has anchovies pizza is likely to know what they are talking about. We didnt find, a "vegetarian" one... More

Many opinions about the best pizza in Boston. This place never fails to exceed expectations even based on how great the last time was. For mediocrity and grease, go to the other "bests" but if you want delicious ingredients and consistently high quality pies, this is the only place you need to know about.

Personally, I would eat at santarpios every night for dinner if possible. However please be warned that if you are ritzy and looking for a wine and dine experience this is not it. Santarpios is a local pizza shop that only accepts cash, only has about 10 things on the menu and has service that is funny and witty. I... More

Based on local recommendations this was the place to go. There was a queue of people waiting outside. The seating was crowded and less than clean, but the simplicity may be part of the appeal. While the sausage came highly recommended it was a bit of a let down - very burnt on one side and dried out. But one... More
