Excellent menu, the food is great and the service is very friendly. You feel like you are part of their family. Try the pumpkin ravioli - they are amazing.

If you're into healthy eats, check out their massive Italian antipasto - it's to die for :D Come here for great eats, warm Italian hospitality, and the east coast accent! Also a fantastic deal although I wouldn't call it "cheap eats" since this title undervalues the quality of food.

Based on the reviews on TripAdvisor, we decided to give Al Dente a try. With so many restaurants in the North End it is some times hard to choose. We were happy we chose Al Dente. From the moment we sat down, we were greeted with friendly service. The bus boy who filled our water glasses said "hello, how are... More

We were searching the North End for authentic but reasonably priced Italian food, and came across Al Dente. It's small but has a lot of choices, all of which looked delicious. My spouse got a delicious chicken dish in a light lemon sauce. I finally chose fresh-made pasta with a pesto cream sauce. You pay an extra $3 for the... More

Made reservation online which was very easy. Arrived early and while waiting on the rest of my family to get there I was loitering around outside the restaurant reading the menu when one of the employees came out and asked if I was hungry :-) I explained that I was waiting on my family and didn't want to take up... Excellent, friendly and accommodating service. My friend and I met for an early dinner and thought we might be rushed to turn over a table but were delighted that we were not, even though it was a busy night. A little noisy overall but we had a corner table in back so were able to talk easily. Food was very... More

While doing a road trip through Boston we knew we had to go to north end for quality italian food. Al dente was the best I have ever had. We did make a reservation and had to wait a bit but it was beyond worth it. The restaurant is very comfy and has a homey feel. You can tell the... More

What a great find! Al Dente was a surprise just off the main area of the North End. We tried it because they offer gluten free pasta and we were pleasantly surprised. The food was basic home cooked Italian but simple is sometimes the best option. Thank you Marge for your outstanding service and making us feel welcome. It's not... More

Ok, I wish this was the first place we ate during our week's stay in Boston, but I think we can honestly say that we saved THE BEST for last! What a great place! It started right at the front door. It was a Friday night, 8:30pm and we didn't have a reservation. The awesome gentleman at the door quietly... More

This venue is in the North End, just off Hanover Street, and the food is simply excellent! I had the Vodka Sauce dish, which is apparently a fan-favorite, and it absolutely lived up to the hype! I ate so much that I could barely walk at the end of the night, but it was absolutely worth it!
