Food is Fantastic, um, just watch out for....

The food here is great. Fresh, cooked perfectly and not dosed with minced garlic. Drinks are great. The only problem was... The waitress dropped a red wine and it hit a bunch of our group. Ok, these things happen! I mean, it was an accident. You won't believe this but the guy who got hit with the... read more

We stopped in on a Sunday evening and loved this restaurant. Slightly off the tourist path and wondered why people were waiting in line at other locales when this was a block away.

I had a good veal, but not outstanding. And with so many Italian rest. in the area, there are probably better places. The atmosphere was good and the service was very good.

My wife and I decided to have lunch in the North End today on a whim. There are unlimited restaurants there but we didn't want a meal, just a panini. We decided on Artu. We hadn't been here for a while. Our waitress, Amanda, was very sweet and friendly. She told us the specials and her favorite items. I asked... More

Very disappointed - ate there on a busy Saturday night in April. It was so loud I couldn't taste my food or carry on a conversation with my colleague. App's and drinks were slow to arrive but mains came quickly. $70 for 2 - food was just okay. Additionally it was very cold with the roof window open. thanks to... More

The North End of Boston has lots of Italian restaurants. I have been to Artu a few times and I am always impressed with how good it is. This visit I took friends from out of town and they were equally impressed. I had orecchiette with sausiche, one of my favorites. Done perfectly. We started with calamari fritte, excellent, fresh.... The eggplant rollatini special appetizer was light, creamy and perfect. The sauce was light. The bruschetta with chick peas, broccoli rabe was tasty once salt was added. My special lobster ravioli was good and the scallops were great. Good service.

The people and menu have changed. I sent back my lasagne because it was ice cold; it came back a pile of heated mush. The *old* Artu would never have served frozen lasagne. No compensation or apology for the mess. The menu is not near as seasonal as it once was.

This was recommended by two different Boston residents for the half dozen out of towners including myself that I would be having dinner. The first thing they did very well was handle a phone call after the reservation had been made. One in my party had an evening plane to catch and wasn't sure if dinner would work. The person... It's not a grand restaurant. But, good, solid food and I think a great place for lunch. Their roasted vegetables are the best.
