Old School, great dinner choice

Good food and service. This is an old-school North End restaurant with food like your Italian grandmother would make (if you had an Italian grandmother.

Having travelled all over Italy, Artu felt like I had stepped into an upscale restaurant there; of course it's in the North End, but not all North End restaurants really feel authentically Italian. The wine list is outstanding, the service exceptional and the food excellent. Everything is made to order, so don't go if you're in a hurry. This is... More

There are lots of great Italian choices in the North End but we really enjoyed this place. Service was great. Pasta and salads were fresh.

After a few hours on the Freedom Trail and exploring Boston, we were famished. We consulted Trip Advisor on our phone and came across reviews for Artu. We decided to give it a try. Surprisingly, we had a delicious Italian meal that day. The cheese platter was a great start, the pizza was unbelievable and the pasta dishes and meatball... More

Small party of family and friends went here. Had an excellent meal and the waitress we had was just so friendly and patient. She gave us menu advice, and chatted about the area a bit, even suggesting other restaurants we might want to try. I mean, just really nice folks. Add to that the delicious food (and sangria), and we'll... More

Followed the recommendation of one of the owners of Sporting clothes store about Artu's. He spoke highly of it so we gave it a try. We were warmly greeted by of host Pru (Short for Prudence). I did not know what to order so I told our waiter to surprise me. My wife had seafood Linguini and he picked a... More

Came here for drinks on a Wednesday night. The bartender (Gia)greeted us right when we walk through the doors. So welcoming and friendly. She was that way with everyone, we definitely thought she was part of the family. My husband and I had already eaten elsewhere that evening but Gia welcomed us back the next night and we showed up... This great North End restaurant serves real Italian food. Fresh ingredients, seasonal specials all prepared the way your Italian grandmother did! A delightful place, nice ambience, really good service, wonderful variety all at fair prices. Nice cocktail specials, too, I recommend the Bar Fly. This restaurant is so authentic that Italian food tours of the North End begin here! And... More

Had a great 'old country' Italian dinner. The pasta and entrees were fabulous. Had whole octopus for the first time and liked it! Reasonably priced, good service, and excellent food. Would love to go back.
