With the wealth of choices in the North End, it can be tough to make a decision. As per usual, the reviewers of TA got it right once again. Cantina Italiana is a very simple place with older furnishings, but don't let that fool you. The food is absolutely fantastic! Our server Stefan's recommendations were right on. For starters, the... more

After spending the day walking the city, we look on Trip Advisor's for a place to eat. Since it was my wife's first time in Boston, I knew we had to go to Little Italy. With the great reviews on this place, we chose Cantina Italiana. We called about 1 hour before from the hotel and made reservations very easily!... more

We had a wonderful meal at Cantina Italiana. We were seated right away. The staff was very attentive. We had salads, 2 veal parms, chicken parm and a side of the spinach. It was very good. They had an accordion player, and he was wonderful. Would definitely go back there again. Nice ambiance. more

As a big TA fan of TA rankings i had the misfortune to reccomend this place for a family dinner. Upon arrival things were fine, there is a new marble bar when you walk in, and it seems to fit the bill as a quality spot. However things quickly declined as we were seated, 6 deep at a booth designed... more

I like to sample the Italian restaurants in Boston. I saw the reviews on this one and had to see for myself....twice! It exceeded my expectations. The service was excellent. The wait staff knew the menu and knew how to pair my meal with single servings of wine. There was an accordion player who added to the atmosphere without being... more

This was not our first choice, but having to book at family meal for 20 on a Saturday night caused me to scramble and call many different restaurants all over town. Enzo and Trisha were happy to accomodate our party in "the back room" and were very easy to work with. I was very pleasantly surprised, the waiters handled the... more

I liked this place a lot. The service was refreshingly simple and lacking in pretentiousness...which is great. And the food was absolutely wonderful. Three different dishes among our party and every single one was exceptional. I also highly recommend it for families with young kids (<8), there is not a special kids menu but there are a couple simple pasta... more

I live in Boston so I have eaten in the North End a lot over the years. Hands down, this is the best Italian restaurant by far. There are a lot of excellent restaurants in the North End so the fact that I continue to come back to the Cantina should tell you something. Their pasta is homemade. Their salad... more

I stopped in for lunch on a weekday by myself. I was seated quickly and given the lunch menu and the dinner menu. I asked the waiter, Andrew, which pasta he suggested given that I don't eat a lot of fish. He suggested the Bombolotti alla Buongustaia which was pasta, sausage, red sauce, goats cheese. It was incredible. They have... more

While we came here as a fall-back because the top places on Hanover Street were too crowded, it ended up being one of the best places I have eaten in Boston. The place is fairly small and all the dishes taste like they were homemade. I would recommend all the pasta dishes as well as the salads. more
