Anthony Bourdain, host of the TV travel guide show, featured Paul and the Galley in one of his episodes. Fitted with 4 tables and a 12 stool lunch counter, it always seems to have a crowd, but somehow Paul always finds room. With good reason, the Galley is known as a breakfast shop. Virtually any omelet you can think of, western or eastern, sandwiches, eggs anyway you like them, the hand-carved ham right off the bone is to die for. Corned beef hash, sausages, linguica, steak, bacon, they are all available. Home Fries are actually that, homemade and the best. What an experience!

This was my second time at Galley, and I love the people in the place. The food is great (try the Southie Omelette - the hash inside is fantastic), but the people make the place special. I bought a mug and I will be back!

Best homemade hash in Boston. Great coffee and home fries. Retro pics of movie stars and of course the stooges.plenty of on street parking.hardworking family place that has a full menu for breakfast and lunch.you,ll need to take a walk down down castle island down the street to walk off the portions. Enjoy !!

I love Boston and I always prefer to support the local guys... Fantastic local, diner in South Boston. Great find. Established in 1995, it's a small, cozy joint with 12 stools at the counter and only four tables. We were greeted and served by Paul, the original owner, himself. Served coffee and had our order taken by his Dad. Very... More

My wife and I walked the 3 plus miles from Copley Square to this typical diner just to enjoy what some say is the best diner in Boston. It met our expectations. the food was good but the people - from server to owner to clientele were what made the place. the place maybe holds 20 people and while we... More

Great place for breakfast, big menu with affordable prices. It is a very small family-owned and operated diner and we had to wait in the car for the lady to call us when a spot would become available. Overall, it was a nice place for breakfast considering we were in the neighborhood, but if you are visiting Boston, it is... More

Old school charm meets great food. Fantastic accents, just like moms! Try the hash, my husband loved the roast beef. I stuck w/sausage and peppers.

When you go in, you walk a long gauntlet of regulars at the bar and tables if you want a table at the back. Everyone is friendly enough though, and when the owner found out we were from Scotland, she spoke to us about her pen-pal in Ayr and wouldn't let us leave without signing her visitors book. Food comes... More

Very Filling for a low price tag I can eat a lot, I don't know if i looked like i was hungry or what but the cook made me a southie omelet that i could not finish, I hate leaving food on my plate, this thing was huge, and a bottomless cup of coffee, Toast and great service. The next... More

We did this based on the food tv app and Anthony bourdain visit in 2011. The place is charming but a dive as others have stated. The hash brought me back to my childhood and so did the omlette. The sides however were old or burnt. This was disappointing and made the 35 $ for breakfast seem too high. Go... More

We went here the Tuesday after the Boston Marathon. My daughter, who lives is South Boston, has raved about it so we decided to give it a try. I'll be honest, when I first walked in I was very skeptical. But, don't let looks deceive you! My daughter and husband both got the Southie omelette (which is her favorite) with... More
