The place is small, but usually packed, which would make it sound like the food is great, and it was, although not as good as i would expect for the price. Guacamole did not seem home made and the portion size was tiny. Chips and salsa were also extra and small portioned. For the price of the entrees, one would... More

Authentic Mexican food truly hidden in a super convenient location. Just steps from the Prudential Center. Fresh salsa and chips were refilled frequently by numerous and attentive, knowledgeable friendly wait staff. The delicious cerviche appetizer was a surprisingly large portion and well seasoned. The tilapia entree was also good size with plenty if sauce. If you are craving Mexican food... More

I've always liked Casa Romero however my last visit was very disappointing. The food was good and the service was okay, until we got our entrees. We'd been at the table, maybe half an hour, when two bus staff began to hover. While I was still eating one reached across the table and removed my side dish. I hadn't finished... More

Brunch for six people. It appeared to be their first try at brunch. Service (and this was a buffet) was terrible. And that was just for the water and coffee. The brunch was mediocre fare (although eggs were made order) served in steamers...so definitely over cooked. Would not return for another meal.

This is cute Mexican spot. The food is good, but nothing to rave about. Some of the earlier reviews were spot on. I like a good margarita, but depending on which one you get, some are straight alcohol (a bit too much to actually enjoy it). We got the chicken fajitas and the chicken enchiladas in mole sauce.

My wife and I decided to try a neighborhood place close to home. We had a horrible meal. Let me start by saying that it was our server's first night on the job and she was trying extremely hard to be attentive. She seemed genuinely concerned when we had a problem with our food. We both felt sorry that she... More

Hidden away in an alley in the Back Bay, it's worth the effort to find the Casa Romero. Aside from the friendly service, the food is upscale Mexican and not heavy street food. They have some really excellent unusual dishes as well, like the chicken stuffed with cactus and cheese with mole sauce or the yummy chicken liver app. with... More

We have fond memories of Casa Romero. We had dined there on several occasions, and on several New Year's Eves. This year, we convinced others to join us on New Year's Eve. Knowing our dining companions were fussy eaters, we called ahead to confirm that the regular menu would be available to supplement the "prix fixe" menu advertised for that... More

Casa Romero is tucked away round a corner in the Back Bay and easy to miss. Heading down the steps inside, the restaurant offers cosy surroundings downstairs. The staff are friendly and there's a good choice of different dishes on the menu. My only quibble would be that the water on the table isn't free and that you'll be charged... More

Casa Romero is located a block off Newbury, tucked into a narrow side-street and easy to miss. The beautifully tiled door, like an optical illusion, made us pause for a second and figure out how to gain entrance. Once inside, you descend a few steps into a casual, warmly lit and welcoming dining room. Everyone was friendly; service was well-paced... More
