Great Sandwiches

I highly recommend the Lamb sandwich, and ask for them to grill it! The line here gets incredibly long during peak hours (weekend brunch, weekday lunch). You can order ahead which is convenient.

I joined two of my college friends for a weekend in Boston's South End. We fueled up on coffee and a mammoth breakfast egg sandwich -- baked egg with cheddar, arugula, and tomato dijonaise and a grilled portobello melt with fresh mozzarella, roasted tomatoes and basil pesto. Ask for half sandwiches and save room for dessert. I took home a... More

Flour Bakery & Cafe has a reputation for serving the best sticky buns around. On a recent trip to Boston, I was delighted to have a chance to sample one. When asked whether I wanted it room temp or warmed, I followed the recommendation of the counter person and ordered it warmed. Truly, the best sticky bun I've ever tasted.... More

I had this bakery/café recommended from a friend. It was a good experience, liked the ambience with the open kitchen facilities and they have some great sandwiches as well as an ok coffee.

For fresh and tasty treats stop by this spot. You won't leave hungry and I bet you you'll be temps by the desserts!

Working in Back Bay Flour is a staple in anyone's breakfast diet who works or lives in the area. Great pastry's and coffee along with a pretty solid lunch menu as well. Lines can be very long at times but is worth the wait if you have the time. Highly recommend this place for coffee and pastry's lunch isn't the... More

By luck no big line, but i beleive it could be bad at the weekend, great pastries, had such a nice choice i had to sample many which translated in no need for lunch either. Atmosphere isnt a warming sit and people watch affair, but grts you in gets the job done very well. Lovely coffee and locely sticky buns.... More

Delicious - been a few times and everything I have tried has been wonderful, from croissants, to cinnamon roles, coffee and breakfast sandwiches. Worth the long wait in the line in the morning. Options to sit-in (if you can find a spot), or take it out for breakfast and lunch. Highly recommend!

Holy moly. The croissants are the best in the world. Eat in or take out breakfast and lunch. Informal atmosphere, but it's a bakery!

We saw Flour on a television show and put as a place we knew we needed to stop at. So glad we did. We ordered up two half sandwiches, a veggie version with sweet potatoes and the other with chicken and brie. Both served toasted and jam packed with goodness. We wrapped up with a sticky sticky bun, peanut butter... More

Staying in Back Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
