Wow

Had a last breakfast here before flying back to the UK. Had to walk about 30 minutes from our hotel to find it but well worth it, small diner but great fun, quick friendly service, obviously a favourite of the locals and it was nice to eat in a down to earth diner instead of a fancy restaurant. We went for lunch. We're going back for breakfast. And lunch. I need to leave more words for the review so I'll reiterate. We went for lunch. We're going back for breakfast. And lunch.

This place has to be good because there is a wait to get in. It is definitely worth the wait. We came for breakfast and it was terrific. We had omelets pancakes and a breakfast sandwich. All were really good. The service was top notch as well. even though it was full the kitchen was properly staffed and got our... More

Walked here from Copley Square because we heard it was delicious. Ordered the corn beef omelet, cup of chili (so good!) and club sandwich. The turkey was so fresh! Glad we came.

Excellent breakfast place. Cash only, but a little cash gets you an enormous plate of food. Lot's of specials on the blackboard. Look for the line outside on weekends.Love the Linguica and eggs and the bottomless cup of coffee.

I had a hard time choosing. There is every breakfast food: pancakes, waffles, omelates, bagels and lox, oatmeal... The waiter said that they are known for their hash: 2 kinds either corned beef or turkey. I picked corned beef hash w eggs over easy and home fries. yum! Hubby had eggs Benedict. Service was friendly and prices reasonable... We ll... More

My dad loves this place, hes been eating here for years. Mikes is reliable and consistent. But not great. I live in Dorchester, but I am willing to travel pretty far for great breakfast, Neighborhood restaurant in Somerville, Mckennas cafe in savin hill or even savin hill bar and grill across the street. These are great places! Mikes is mediocre.

Staying in South End

Neighborhood Profile
South End
Stroll down the beautiful brownstone lined streets while capturing views of Boston’s tallest buildings from a distance. Some of Boston’s best restaurants are scattered around this neighborhood. There are many gems to be found, from jazz clubs to classy bars and restaurants. It is also home to art galleries, interesting boutiques, artsy stores and SOWA open market during the summer months. The South End is a true find in the city, with a more residential feeling than Back Bay.
