Description: The signature dish at Legal Sea Foods – really fresh fish. We know shopping induces hunger. Our restaurant is located on the upper level of Copley Place, with direct indoor access to both the Westin and Marriott hotels as well as to the Prudential Center. Panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows overlook Boston’s historic South End. We’ve received a boatload of accolades including “Most Popular Boston Restaurant” (Zagat, 2012/2013), “Best Seafood Restaurant” (Improper Bostonian, 2010), “Best Chowder” (Boston Magazine, 2010), “Best Seafood Restaurant” (Boston Phoenix, 2009) and the honor of serving our legendary New England Clam Chowder at every presidential inauguration since 1981.

If you like seafood you cannot miss this place in Boston. Very conveniently located in a shopping mall, accessible from the Metro (Copley Station). In busy days (weekends) is better to make a reservation because it becomes very crowded. Not cheap, but worth it.

I enjoyed a huge lobster, steamers and mussels. My goal when visiting Boston was to have amazing seafood and this meal was exactly what I came for. The seafood was fresh and delicious. I highly recommend Legal. The price was outstanding too. I couldn't have asked for more. It was served with corn on the cob which hit the spot.

Solid Legal Sea Foods fan back in the day in Somerville in the 1970s. I just visit Boston these days, so I was looking forward to some basic and tasty seafood. What a disappointment, from the overdressed menu to the over cooked fish. Perhaps another LS location would not disappoint as much. But I won't be giving it a chance.

We have always loved the Legal Seafood in the Prudential and routinely visit it when in Boston. We were very disappointed to find when we called to make a reservation for New Years that it was closing Dec. 28. What a shame. Well we opted for the Legal Seafood in Copley which is smaller and to me less attractive. During... More

Very popular place. Packed and very noisy. I ordered salmon from the lunch menu, and requested that it be served medium rare, but unfortunately as served it was over-cooked to at about medium well. Small portion, even for a lunch entree. Thought about sending it back but the service was slow and inattentive (probably due in part to the aforementioned... More

We ate an early dinner here. We had to wait a little bit but the line became much longer after we arrived. The food was tasty as well as the wine. The atmosphere would be nicer if the tables were not so close together.

The wait for this mediocre (at best) chain was 40 minutes, but since we were tired and no one wanted to walk outside, so we waited. REALLY bad choice. My husband's clam chowder was served luke warm. He asked for a hot cup and the waitress actually put her finger in the soup to check the temperature. Enough said.

we had the tuna burger which was very good. Our friends had the oysters and clam chowder, when we left the plates were very empty which says something about their food. Nice menu, only issue ihad was I found it a little pricy.

We were staying over night at the Plaza and meandered to our favorite place once again. The service was excellent and the meals tasty. Try it while in Boston.

Firstly, don't get me wrong, the food was good and the service was great. The service was actually the highlight of the experience. I ordered the mixed fried fish platter. In my opinion, the proportion of shrimp and scallops and calamari to way too many 'other' clams was not cool. If I wanted a plate full of fried clams, then... More
