Description: The signature dish at Legal Sea Foods – really fresh fish. We know shopping induces hunger. Our restaurant is located on the upper level of Copley Place, with direct indoor access to both the Westin and Marriott hotels as well as to the Prudential Center. Panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows overlook Boston’s historic South End. We’ve received a boatload of accolades including “Most Popular Boston Restaurant” (Zagat, 2012/2013), “Best Seafood Restaurant” (Improper Bostonian, 2010), “Best Chowder” (Boston Magazine, 2010), “Best Seafood Restaurant” (Boston Phoenix, 2009) and the honor of serving our legendary New England Clam Chowder at every presidential inauguration since 1981.

The price of food is rising, so is the price of sea food. This means that the best quality sea food will also cost more. In all honesty, the prices at Legal Sea Foods is worth it. I arrived with 6 people on a Saturday on a holiday weekend. We only had to wait about 15 minutes to get a... More

This is obviously a popular fish restaurant judging by the number of people waiting to be seated but after ordering the basic fish and chips I found the dish average and quite disappointing. The decor is very utilitarian and wouldn't encourage you to linger.

If you're in Boston, and you're both lawyers by profession, and you want to eat lobster, where do you go? You go to Legal Seafood. We chose the Copley Place branch as it was convenient for our hotel, and were happy enough to go back again the following day. On each occasion, arriving at about 7 p.m., we had no... More

One cannot go wrong by choosing a Legal Seafood location. The food quality is always consistent. At Copley, you may choose one of two locations: The Copley Mall and Prudential Mall. Both are connected to major convention hotels and may by accessed by enclosed walkways(important during bad weather). Bar drinks are good and the seafood is tasty and predictable. We... More

Went here with family for a group get together. Has a nice lunch with good service. The menu was varied enough to satisfy the kids and adults alike. Particularly good were the crab cakes. Nice lumps of crab, little filler. Also good were the shrimp shumai. Will definitely go back on our next Boston trip.

For a place that prides itself on seafood, Legal sure does little with it. The chowder continues to be wonderful, but fish dishes are bland and ordinary, more "mass feeding" than "careful preparation"

We had to have a lobster while visiting Boston and a friend suggested Legal Seafood as it was close and the weather was terrible, so we went to Legal Seafood in Copley Place. Upon arriving right on time for our reservation, we were told it would be a twenty minute wait even though there were multiple tables available. When my... More

After a hard day of sightseeing, a steamed lobster at Legal Seafood was a great way to end the day! THe Legal at Copley Place is not easy to find, especially given a need for elevators as opposed to escalators. The restaurant was huge, and in a city shopping mall. Wait staff were attentive, but not particularly friendly. Food was... More

I stopped here while on a business trip and together the four of us had the Seafood Trio (with clams, scallops, shrimp), Lobster Roll, Clams, and of course, Clam Chowder. The service was excellent and always prompt and the food was incredible. Super fresh too.

Didn't expect to find such a restaurant in an upmarket mall with good fresh seafood. Delicious clam chowder! I had the seafood crumble - tasty, with chunks of prawn and fish, and could still taste the alcohol. My friend had the lobster which she said was delicious. Finished with a Boston cream pie - chocolaty and sinful! Service was fine... More
