We made a reservation, as we were told Legal Sea Foods was the "BEST" place for seafood in Boston. We arrived about 10 minutes early for our reservation, and had hoped to get a drink at the bar...but were seated immediately (which was surprising). Great service, great food. We went for lunch and it was about $41 including one glass of wine. I had the crab cake sandwich; my son had the special, which was calamari and shrimp in a taco-type shell. Both were wonderful. No line-up, nice atmosphere and people-watching. This franchise is all over the place now - I've been to Legal Seafood restaurants in Paramus NJ, Nyack NY and Baltimore MD, to name a few. But there's something about seafood in Boston. Legal is always a great choice, no matter where it is. more

My first attempt to eat at Legal failed due to poor planning and relying upon Garmin. I found the location searching for seafood restaurants using the car rental GPS but it failed to tell me that it was actually located inside the Prudential Building. Legal sea foods is always fun... and always expensive! Don't bother with anything non-seafood: their steaks are not good at all and never cooked as ordered. Their stuffed lobster, however, is AMAZING. This location is located within a high-end mall and isn't just a stand-alone restaurant. If you're looking for something a little more intimate, this isn't the location. more

Legal seafood seems to have become a victim of its own success. Location is pretty much the killer here. As one of the few real resturants in the prudential-copley complex, it must serve all comers at a pace that can't be good for the food quality.
