The signature dish at Legal Sea Foods – really fresh fish. We know shopping induces hunger. Our restaurant is located on the upper level of Copley Place, with direct indoor access to both the Westin and Marriott hotels as well as to the Prudential Center. Panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows overlook Boston’s historic South End. We’ve received a boatload of accolades including “Most Popular Boston Restaurant” (Zagat, 2012/2013), “Best Seafood Restaurant” (Improper Bostonian, 2010), “Best Chowder” (Boston Magazine, 2010), “Best Seafood Restaurant” (Boston Phoenix, 2009) and the honor of serving our legendary New England Clam Chowder at every presidential inauguration since 1981.

This has become almost like an average diner, but they don't charge diner prices. The place is poorly managed and it seems most of the waitstaff has no training. We had salad dressing spilled on us, incorrect meals served, very sporadic service, and an assistant server who brought me a new... read more

Legal Sea Foods is a known chain in the region. The name provides an obvious hint to the menu, although you have a wide range of seafood options, include the chowder that's known in the area. I went for the almond encrusted salmon. A nice dish. Food portions are generous but not overwhelming. The wine list is fair, especially their... More

Must have the clam chowder. A good thing to try is also the muscles and the fish tacos. Those were amazing. Also try the shrimp cocktail.

My boyfriend and I went at around 3:30 on Valentine's Day. We were told by the hostess there would be a 20 - 25 minute wait. There were literally very few people there, mostly empty tables in the restaurant but they said because of reservations we would have to wait. That was fine, I have no problem with that. A... More

Have eaten at Legal Sea Foods many times but just ate there for the first time in about 5 years. Still can't find a better clam chowder and there are great selection of seafood. Service was excellent as usual.

Great food. Great choice. Great service. Great wine - at not too ridiculous prices. Not a huge amount of choice if you don't like seafood, but if you don't like seafood, why choose this restaurant? The Mahi Mahi speciality was delicious - beautifully cooked.

We live in the Boston area so over the years we have dined at several of the Legal Sea Food locations many times. This weekend we opted to get away from the snow so we booked ourselves into the Copley Marriott Hotel. We arrived after 6:00 pm we decided to have dinner near the hotel. Since we know Legal Sea... Needed a quick (late) lunch and chanced on Legal Seafoods in Copley Place. Found a table really quick & had the signature crab cake, fried jalapeno cheese polenta & a glass of riesling. Everything was very good... The portions were surprisingly modest so if you're used to big portions, order starters. Service was great, server was attentive & food came... More

We try to include Legal Seafood meal every time we come to Boston. The fish is always fresh and well prepared. The onion strings and the dinner rolls are memorable.

This was my first time in this Legal Seafood and it was wonderful. The restaurant is very quiet, there is plenty of light coming through the windows and the tables are nicely spaced. I took a friend for her birthday and we both had a cup of their chowder which is always excellent. She had the tuna wrap with fries... More
