The signature dish at Legal Sea Foods – really fresh fish. We know shopping induces hunger. Our restaurant is located on the upper level of Copley Place, with direct indoor access to both the Westin and Marriott hotels as well as to the Prudential Center. Panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows overlook Boston’s historic South End. We’ve received a boatload of accolades including “Most Popular Boston Restaurant” (Zagat, 2012/2013), “Best Seafood Restaurant” (Improper Bostonian, 2010), “Best Chowder” (Boston Magazine, 2010), “Best Seafood Restaurant” (Boston Phoenix, 2009) and the honor of serving our legendary New England Clam Chowder at every presidential inauguration since 1981.

Appetizers were great! I had Lobster Bisque as my main course. My sister had lobster, which came with clams and mussels. The service was very good! Staff were polite and cheerful!

I had the chowder and it was spectacular. This was my first visit with friends and we all couldn't get enough of the food. It was a terrific treat.

My wife and I ate here on our first night in Boston. I had grilled tuna, jalapeño polenta and seaweed salad. My wife had grilled haddock. Both were cooked to perfection and were very delicious. The polenta was great. Food came out quick and hot. Paige our server was very attentive and helpful.

I could eat at Legal several times a week and not tire of it. The staff was friendly, the food was very good, the prices were reasonable, and it was 5 minutes from the hotel!

Last time we ate at the restaurant it was awful and service was terrible. This time I decided to order take out. Great idea and great service. Much quicker with higher quality food. Only bummer is that their fries for fish and chips were nothing but shoe string grease!

When I was a kid, we used to come to Legal Sea Food when we vacationed in Boston. My memories were fond. 30 years later, I was very disappointed! Mediocre and overpriced. Salty oysters. Watery lobster bisque. Just okay chowder. Food I could get anywhere. Our waiter was very nice. This will be my last trip to a Legal Sea... More

Had a group of 22 for dinner. Excellent appetizers, entrees, desserts, service, and at a reasonable price! Located in downtown shopping center, so everything closed by the time we finished. Still, we went for an excellent meal and had one!

I have been to Legal Sea Foods on a number of occasions, but I had never tried the spicy fish & chips. I asked the server what makes it spicy, and he said that they put Tabasco Sauce in the batter during the prep. I tried it, and it is really good - actually makes the batter seem lighter. Definitely... More

Perhaps I went in with too high expectations but I wasn't overly impressed with this restaurant. Perhaps it was my choice... Salmon. When it was first put down in front of me it looked tender and juicy; it ended up being dry but towards the center barely cooked. It came with mushroom ravioli which was odd to me - I'd... More
