Comfort Food in Beantown

My step son was graduating from Suffolk and we wanted to have a very nice dinner for him after the Graduation. He had been to this restaurant before and thought it would serve well for most of us Southern Folk coming into town. The food was really great. I had the Chicken fried steak that came with... read more

Came here on a busy Sunday. Thankfully we had reservations, the wait was over 90 minutes. We all ordered something different; vegetable omelet, pannini, quesedilla and pancakes. The bloody mary, mamosa, and watermelon martini were delicious. The food was delicious and the service was amazing. Would definitely return.

We arrived and put our name in for the patio seating and was told it would be 15-20 minutes. Not a problem, until it became 40+ minutes. The manager kept on telling us we were next, but still waited. Since we were a two top, they made us wait, even though there were open four tops. Let's not take care... More

Always a favorite in warm weather to eat, drink and people watch. Get there early , put your name in and go shopping since there is always a wail. Love their entree salads! Great bread basket!

Very rude...especially the blonde girl at the réception. They should not forget that one day they might loose their popularity. Never again.

Our waitress, Maria, was one of the worst we've ever experienced. For example, she did not read us any of the specials that night. One of the other customers brought to our attention that this particular waitress doesn't do that. When we asked her for the specials she faced away from my date and read the specials in poor English,... More

Went for brunch and had a real good lobster roll Had omelets and Andrew had a dish with eggs in a red sauce that was ok. In general was pretty good. Service was excellent.

First of all, I had a Bordeaux (I think it was St. Emilion) and it was amazing. One of the best, smoothest reds I've had in a restaurant in a while. Then I had the lobster pot pie, one of the more comfort-food-type items on the menu, and it was delicious (yes, I know it didn't go with the wine).... More

Shopping Boston kids, often with their paying parents in tow, pack this place but I can't imagine it's for the food. I've been here several times, each with the same food result: it really is just average - salads, sandwiches, etc. no better than what you'd find almost anywhere else in the US but, okay, but the ambiance is very... Visited the bar for a few drinks, great 'Newsbury' atmosphere, super service and nice people. Just renovated with new interior - highly recommended!
