Had lunch with a friend at this old standby. Usually really pleasant when weather is nice--this day was windy--waiter made no attempt to move us inside even while furniture was blowing over. We made most of it but we should have asked to move...and really, two salads and an appetizer for more than $60?

First night in Boston visited Stephanies. Didn't eat in a booth as the bar looked more inviting. Good busy bar Sat at table as no bar stalls available ordered the fried squid as snack. Good size portion tasty and the drinks were fine . Reasonably priced and service was friendly.

Greeted by a lovely maitre de. First impression was of a lovely warm restaurant. Our waiter was young and whilst not warm, was professional. He served us with the minimum of interaction. This was the opposite to all our experience with Bostonians, who are very friendly. The food was ok. Had better, had worse. As said on another review, once... More

Sat outside until it rained! Wait staff very nice and helped everyone move inside quickly Calamari app was hot and crispy with a delicious rich sauce on the side Mac and cheese huge and rich but bland. Should be offered as a side dish Three fat seared perfectly scallops on a rich risotto with mushroom purée. Very tasty. Would go... More

It was nice, decided to try the "comfort food" choices under their special heading on the menu. Much as I liked the staff and restaurant, I was disappointed with my meal. Everyone else at my large table enjoyed their pastas and seafood so if I ever visit again that's the route I'd take.

We came here for Sunday brunch (reservations needed) and were delighted to find "build your own Bloody Mary." These were unique, delicious, and fun. We enjoyed crab eggs benedict and one of our party had the tuna tartare which they enjoyed. This was in winter but in the summer there is outside seating here.

Went there with friends met whilst traveling around. The Lamb Shank was tender and tasty, though I would have liked a few more vegetables. Everyone else enjoyed their meal and the youngest all looked great. I would definitely return.

This was our 4th trip to this perfectly located and wonderfully decorated restaurant. We have never had a bad meal here. I Had the pulled chicken and pasta dish and it was excellent. Be sure to order the onion rings, this place knows how to do them! A little pricey but worth it.

Visited on several occasions. Most recent was last month. The food is always superb. Wine list good, apps to die for. Service was young but mistakes were forgivable. Will be back.

We had a recent stay in Boston and we read about 'Stephanie's on Newbury' in a local magazine and so we booked for our wedding anniversary which was the second night in Boston. We were seated very quickly and the service was wonderful - easy recommendations and service was quick, courteous but not overbearing which can happen in american restaurants.... More
