Delicious Italian food

Don't miss this charming little restaurant in Boston's North End. My companions and I were wandering along the Freedom Trail and the enticing smells from the multitude of Italian restaurants became overwhelming. We had been reading the menus in front of several restaurants and decided that Cafe... read more

The sauteed spinach and mushrooms was delicious! My sister ordered the chicken parmesean--she ate the whole thing! also my shrimp on my corn soup were cooked perfectly, but i wish I got more than two. Waitress was very friendly -- not too crowded on a saturday night in may compared to other restaurants! I would go back again

It seems that when we find a restaurant on Boston's "north end" that we like, they go out of business. Hopefully, this won't be the case with our new "find". We walked down Hanover Street looking at menus in windows. Many were, we thought, very pricy for pasta dishes, and several had lines of people outside waiting to get in.... More

Honestly the rudest most pitiful service I have ever encountered in my life. The good was substandard nothing that you wouldn't get anywhere else like Chef Boyardee. Whoever that fat woman is with the short hair she is atrocious. No respect for customers and was very insulting because clearly there was a language barrier. Which begs me to ask why... More

It was a cold night as we checked out the restaurants in the North end. We finally decided on the Café Pompei because it looked inviting and the menu wasn't outrageous pricing. I'm so glad we did. I ordered my standard chicken parm which is how I judge a restaurant for the first time. My friend ordered a Primavera made... More

I stopped by after a rude experience at a bar in Boston (See my review of Green Dragon from the same night). We saw a line out the door and as a New Yorker I was curious as to how the pizza would be. There was absolutely no reason for there to be a line out the door. There were... More

I have been to Pompei a hundred times, I always go there after a night of drinking for pizza and I've always had a fine experience. Last night was an absolute disaster. I'm disgusted and i will never go back. Nor will my friends. There was a BOUNCER outside of the restaurant. Its a hole in the wall italian place,... More

My friends and I popped in for dessert and coffee here after going to the Improv Asylum on a Saturday night. We grabbed a table at the front window to chat and people watch and had tiramisu (not sure if I spelled it right) and I had a cafe moca - yummy! Our waiter was nice and brought the check... More

Like the cheap cappuccino, the nice waitress who took us a picture, and the enjoyable atmosphere in the restaurant.

Food was delicious and we had a nice dining experience until the ticket came. It was pretty pricey. However, the problem was not that but the attitude of our waiter. The ticket was old school - handwritten - not computerized and when we asked him to split the ticket for 7 people into three tickets so we could pay that... More
