We stopped here for a glass of wine while waiting to meet some people in the South End, and discovered a great place for Happy Hour. After perusing their wine list we enlisted the help of Brendan, the bartender. He suggested some French wines by the glass, which we really enjoyed. We also ordered some cheeses that Brendan suggested, which... More

We tried this place our first night in town. What a gem! We walked from the hotel, and needed the walk home! The place is very small, quaint, cool vibe. The selection of meats is solid, the charcuterie is amazing! The sides were very good and the sauces were delicious. I recommend dining here while in town. You will not... More

In the heart of Boston's South End, this is the perfect antidote to an overdose of seafood in this lobster/oyster/chowder obsessed city. Superb cuts of steak are elevated to a fine-dining level in a small, lively, unpretentious local bar. You can also have an amazing steak tartare and divine foie gras terrine with a delicious strawberry compote and brioche. Good... More

We visited here at the end of May on a Friday night. It had been recommended that we got here in good time as it get's busy on the weekend. We arrived at 7:30pm and got the last seating spot before names started going on a list. The atmosphere is great with lots of buzz, laughter and wine drinking. The... More

Ate here for my birthday. Fantastic Charcuterie, great wines, and amazing service. Our waiter was probably the best I have had in Boston yet--sorry, I can't remember his name. The prime rib, the asparagus app, and the steak tartar were awesome. Drink as much wine as you can, cause the selection is great!

This fully functioning butcher shop is like something in Italy or France; providing not only fresh meat and smallgoods, but ready-to-take-home prepared meals, condiments, breads, oils, even a cookbook. We gave our livers a rest from the vino and settled on a couple of cold brews; which is a given when there were sausages in our sights. Heirloom tomato salad... More

I went to The Buthcer Shop and I find it very cool. I hade a good glass of wine from France and salumi from Italy. Atmosphere was really nice, I would go back there.

Some of the items on the dinner menu were a bigger hit with me than others. The Seared Foie Gras appetizer was outstanding but not sure if it was really worth the 19 bucks. For an appetizer. At $15, the Petite Charcuterie could be a meal in itself. Evidently, everyone comes here for the Hot Dog à la Maison. Not... More

Limited options, small portions and very high prices keep this from being a five star. But the morsels that you do get are always excellent and sometimes exquisite and make it worth going to.
