First and foremost - the meal we had at The Butcher Shop was really very, very good. Steaks were cooked perfectly. Our guests enjoyed the venison. The steak tartare was nice and there were a number of nice touches all the way down to the salted butter and honey that comes with the bread. Wine list has a good range... More

I went with my friend and we split one of the $59 steaks. My opinion, it was OK and a little fatty. Choice of butter or the sauce. Personally the sauce is much more to my taste. We also have the $21 sort of like patee on an apple pastry that was very tasty and I would get again. Forgot... More

This place was buzzing, waited with a glass of wine at bar until place available. Friendly and knowledgeable staff that were helpful and interesting for Brits to learn more of the Bostonian traditions and life. A very good evening

If you like charcuterie and you are nearby, you MUST stop here, but you will need reservations! Stellar selection of wines spanning all price-points along with solid guidance if you are willing to put your choice in the hands of your server - please do as the staff when we visited was completely on-point, professional, and fun! The tagliatelle bolognese... More

We stopped here for a glass of wine while waiting to meet some people in the South End, and discovered a great place for Happy Hour. After perusing their wine list we enlisted the help of Brendan, the bartender. He suggested some French wines by the glass, which we really enjoyed. We also ordered some cheeses that Brendan suggested, which... More

We tried this place our first night in town. What a gem! We walked from the hotel, and needed the walk home! The place is very small, quaint, cool vibe. The selection of meats is solid, the charcuterie is amazing! The sides were very good and the sauces were delicious. I recommend dining here while in town. You will not... More

In the heart of Boston's South End, this is the perfect antidote to an overdose of seafood in this lobster/oyster/chowder obsessed city. Superb cuts of steak are elevated to a fine-dining level in a small, lively, unpretentious local bar. You can also have an amazing steak tartare and divine foie gras terrine with a delicious strawberry compote and brioche. Good... More

We visited here at the end of May on a Friday night. It had been recommended that we got here in good time as it get's busy on the weekend. We arrived at 7:30pm and got the last seating spot before names started going on a list. The atmosphere is great with lots of buzz, laughter and wine drinking. The... More

Ate here for my birthday. Fantastic Charcuterie, great wines, and amazing service. Our waiter was probably the best I have had in Boston yet--sorry, I can't remember his name. The prime rib, the asparagus app, and the steak tartar were awesome. Drink as much wine as you can, cause the selection is great!
