We planned a birthday celebration for my wife's birthday and chose Antico Forno for the venue. There were only four of us, but had to wait on hour and fifteen minutes beyond our scheduled reservation time to be seated. The staff tried to be nice, but they were wildly inept at managing the reservations or accurately estimating our wait time, as... More

This was our second visit to Antico Forno. We started with the Arncaini, which are outstanding! We were served two very large rice balls covered with a delicious marinara. I enjoyed the saltimbocca di pollo, which was a huge portion, smothered in mushrooms. It was very good, but my husband's choice of fettuccini panna e prosciutto was amazing! The pasta... More

I lived in the north end for over 7 years....and not only is Antico Forno one of the few places have not changed over but it is also one of the best in the North End. Really basic but wonderful Italian menu. It is a big space for the North End.....but is get really crowded with tight dinning arrangements.

We shared a delicious spinach and cheese pizza and yummy bread. We are happy to have found this place and look forward to going back!

This was recommended by our concierge as one of the best Italian restaurants in the north end. I'm sure that can't be the case. The entire experience was average - not bad - but not excelling in any area. We shared a caprese salad to start, which was underwhelming. The tomatoes were too chilled, meaning they lacked flavour. The mozzarella... More

We started with a few glasses of house Chianti. Bad omen - it literally tasted watered down. Bread served with mediocre oil was tasteless. Next, an utterly bland Caesar salad with croutons the size of large meatballs (literally had to cut them with utensils to fit in mouth). Of course, why would anyone expect fresh pepper to be offered for... More

We popped over for a weekday lunch, and it was pleasantly uncrowded. Everything was wonderfully fresh and authentically Italian. This is the real deal.

After running around Boston for two hours on a scavenger hunt race (see Cashunt if interested), our party of 8 teenagers and 8 adults went to dinner at Sunday at about 3pm. It was very easy to arrange the menu with Antico Forno over the phone for the party. I knew the group would be very hungry after the race... More

The North End of Boston offers diners many excellent Italian restaurants to choose from and after our most recent experience at Antico Forno we will be dining elsewhere in the future. We, and at least 5 other parties, had confirmed reservations but had to wait(outside on a chilly night) for over a 1/2 hour beyond our reservation time. The staff... More
