Great food but service didn't keep up.

Wife and I came here for dinner before heading out to a show. Thus, we had a late afternoon reservation (around 4pm). I did this so we would have plenty of time for a relaxing dinner without having to rush out for the show. The food was excellent (4.5 out of 5). Unfortunately, the waiter did not... read more

We had a 9:30 reservation on a Saturday night and we were rushed so much at the end of the meal, that our server was forced to apologize to us for the rushed nature and then came up with a very lame excuse for the restaurant and kitchen staff. If you want to run a restaurant in a town like... More

We didn't have reservations on a busy Saturday night, but the staff welcomed us warmly and made sure to find a place for my sister and me. Our waiter was seriously professional and smooth --- it was a pleasure to be under his watchful eye. The other wait staff were friendly, attentive and not at all hovering. Beautiful dishes and... Came for a late lunch with couples. Very nice upscale atmosphere, but think the food is likely what makes this a popular option. Definitely some creativity in the menu. Salads were very nicely done. Excellent service. Nice part of town to explore.

I am biased: I was born, raised and fed in Italy. I don't normally like going to Italian restaurants in the US (or actually anywhere outside of Italy), they are normally a disappointment. Toscana was not. Solid truthful food with one of the best Restaurant Week selection. The tagliatelle con funghi porcini were surprisingly good (and authentic) and the bistecca... More

Had lunch at Toscano with two friends during Summer for the first time. We sat near the window to enjoy the weather. Had bruschetta for starters and pasta for lunch. Wine is good, but not great. And the staff was superb. It is my favorite restaurant in Boston/Cambridge. Have been there many times since then and it never fails me,... More

Recently dined here and was thoroughly pleased with my experience. Our waiter was great and attentive. The menu offers several options for all tastes as well as a great wine list. The chef even made a dinner that was not on the menu for us without hesitating. Great atmosphere here and would definitely come again.

Very good food at a decent price in lovely surroundings. Toscano was recommended by friends who had eaten here before and it didn't disappoint. For starter, I had the Salsicce Uccelletto, the homemade sausage with tomato and white beans. The sausages are made in the restaurant kitchen and were very tasty. For main I just opted for pasta but the... More

We wanted proper Italian pizza and salad and were not disappointed. The catering salad with anchovies and capers was very good, washed down with a lovely glass of wine. Good service and great food!

Sit at the bar and let Emerson take care of you, both in the food and the wine selections; we did and we were happy with everything he selected for us. We even went back the following day with our friends.
