Good food!

So whenever I go to an Ethiopian restaurant, I just get the Vegetarian Combo. At Addis, they are actually 8 veggie choices and you choose 4 or 5. So we grabbed one that was spicy in addition to the normal selection, and had a lot of fun!

This place is just ok. I've been to most of the Ethiopian places in and around Boston, and this one is probably my least favorite. It's not bad by any means, it's just not as good. I think my main issue was the lack of spice. I like lots of spices, and Addis fell short.

Takes forever to come to you and forever again to bring the food. If you can wait an hour or so for food and not hungry then go. Food is alright.

We had a great meal at Addis Red Sea. The service was excellent and the waiters very caring. The food was also very good and overall not expensive. Not sure how authentic the place is (decoration might be a bit cliché) but it did give us the impression of taking a break from North America - which was the point... More

While visiting our daughter in Boston, she and her husband took us to this amazing place. The honey wine was excellent and the food was outstanding. All of our selections were prepared with care. The server was great. The décor was dated and could stand updating. The dirty carpet was not so pleasant either. The food and service made me... More

This hidden gem provides a wide array of Ethiopian dishes. The space was cozy, but not too loud. It is very easy to walk past this place if you aren't looking, which makes it very attractive to those looking to get an unique dining experience. Bring a healthy appetite and be sure to share! The waitstaff was helpful and communicated... More

The only thing I can say about this restaurant is that it is thoroughly and resolutely mediocre. The waitress began by forgetting part of our beverage order. The bread was soggy and cold. It took forever for our food to come. The portions are very small for the price, and who in their right mind delivers a lamb stew disk... More

Very disappointing meal recently. I ordered a sambusa with beef, but the one I was served was lentil. I asked a server, and the only response I got was a shrug. My lamb entree had no flavor. It tasted like boiled meat. A major turnoff was the shabby surroundings. The bathroom had an old metal waste can that was all... More

Addis Red Sea is such a great Ethiopian restaurant. A hidden gem in the South End that serves absolutely delicious authentic food. Be prepared for some savory and spicy food, eating with your hands, and a truly kind and sweet staff.

Based on the other reviews we thought we'd try this restaurant out. We were seated at the unusual "table" which looks like a large basket. Drinks were placed on little side tables. The menu described the food so ordering was a bit easier than expected. However they did not have everything that we ordered so after five mins we were... More
