When you're on a budget and want a special treat, go to Aquitaine in the South End for their lunch special (which actually isn't even on the menu anymore - you have to ask for it!). For $12, they will give you: Drink (soft drink or iced tea), half sandwich (most of the sandwiches on the menu qualify - I... More

I love aquitaine for a nice dinner or drinks with friends. The food never disappoints, I love the duck and pesto pasta. The service is always excellent and it has an intimate setting. The prix fixe brunch is a bargain with something for everyone to try. They also make delicious cocktails to pair with an meal.

When judging a place, one usually has to decide how much weight to assign/trade-off between food, ambience, and service. No need here. All are outstanding. We were visiting our son, who lives in the area. My wife just googled on the term "French Bistro" and we lucked out when Acquitaine's name was returned. All three were about to have what... More

Went for celebration dinner; was not disappointed. Surprisingly good house wine. The steeped-in-cassis cherries served with dessert may have spoiled me for life. One area for improvement - service was efficient but perfunctory, and it took 10 minutes after being seated before the service started.

Went here for Sunday brunch. Made a reservation and were seated immediately upon arrival, which is nice. Intimate seating and great food made for an overall wonderful experience.

We would highly recommend this restaurant! After 10 nights in NYC and another 2 in Boston, we found this restaurant via the Lonely planet guide. Great staff, beautiful wine & excellent food !!! We did some fine dining in NYC but rate this place highly!!! Coeliacs absolutely no problem here, staff extremely knowledgable and helpful.

The food was very good. The atmosphere was great and no surprise so was the fine. We went here with a party of eight we had appetizers, entrees (the lemon sole is excellent) and dessert. If you like creme brûlée the save room for it. We had good service as well. The only downfall is the prices could maybe be... More

We share the opinions of the most recent Trip Advisor reviewers in highly recommending this restaurant to other readers. Sitting on a corner of Tremont Street in Boston's South End, Aquitaine has the wonderful feeling of a neighborhood restaurant that also delivers food and service equal to any "downtown fine dining" establishment. This is a French restaurant with a lot... More

We really dug the atmosphere – dim, french, romantic. Great place for a date. The service was very professional. We started with charcuterie which was excellent. Great cocktails. I had the celery root stuffed chicken, but my girlfriend had the filet, the steak won hands down. Delicious food.
