How Can You Not Visit This Location?

Cheers was one of the best sitcoms in TV history, so how can you not visit this location while in Boston. The exterior of the bar / restaurant is exactly what you see on TV. The inside, though, is not. This is a much smaller location than what Sam Malone owned on the show. The upstairs hotel has a... read more

The place may be a tourist trap but the servers were lovely to our little boy and the kids pasta was good enough. Burger not the best but we never expected it to be anything other than what it was.

While the Hampshire House might be a crock of Bull & Finch too many, it still stands as a must drink or eat site in Boston for any tourist stumbling up-down the Beacon or throwing-up down the Beacon. For those visitors wanting a more Walt Disneyfied version of the fictitious tall-tailed tavern in actual physical replication, bellying-up at the downstairs... More

Of course this is a tourist must do. The reviews don't give it enough credit. Don't expect it to look like the show, except when you watch people coming down the stairs. Feel free to yell norm! Bartender has sense of humor (Brady you're awesome ). It's a good stop if you want a good local bar. The second location... More

A fun time for all is almost guaranteed at cheers. Good burgers and wings are the staple foods of this restaurant/bar located directly across the street from the Boston commons. Depending on the time of day you arrive, lines can be long and service slow!

Went on a visit to Boston a couple of years ago, and have fond memories; as a fan of the TV episodes of Cheers, where everyone knows your name. It was fun taking photos. Food, I don't recall, but am sure the beer was refreshing.

Tourist stop that we enjoyed. Host, bartender, and both servers were awesome. Food is good. Glad we stopped by to take pictures and to enjoy the neighborhood.

I was a big fan of the atmosphere and the composers of the food, next time I have to make sure I come on an empty stomach so I can try more of their delicious food

Staying in Beacon Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Beacon Hill
Visit this historic and ritzy Boston neighborhood to soak up its classic New England charm as you stroll down cobblestoned, gas-lamp lined streets. Bring your walking shoes, camera, and select a nice day to wander through the hilly neighborhood and check out its exclusive addresses. Louisburg Square, Mt. Vernon street, Chestnut street and the extremely narrow and widely photographed Acorn street make a nice walking path. Make sure to meander down Charles street to poke into boutiques and antique shops, cafes, and restaurants on this quaint shopping street. Don’t forget to catch a glimpse up close of the State House with its beautiful and iconic dome.
