Good Italian lunch

A beautiful Saturday in Boston and I'm stuck in a meeting - the least I can do is enjoy my lunch! So we walked down Newbury and decided to stop in Piattini's. We were able to get a table right away and because it was a little chilly outside we did decide to eat inside. My colleague ordered Pollo... read more

An excellent value for money meal in very pleasant surroundings. The staff were knowledgeable and helpful and the meal was cooked to a high standard. A must visit if you are in the Back Bay Area of Boston.

My friend and I each thought the food at Piattini was delicious. The dinner was appropriately priced. We would go back there without question. The service was friendly, if not a little strange. They serve hard liquor, but only in the form of certain drinks (you can't order a rum and coke, but you can order a drink from the... More

We went to Piattini for dinner with our family. The food was exceptional, the prices very reasonable, the service extremely attentive and accurate, and the atmosphere warm and welcoming. We had a most pleasant experience! We have already told several friends about this restaurant and will most definitely go back!

Went to Piattini for a latish dinner and wowed by the incredible food. Wine list is decent, the food is amazing, service is certainly better than most. I had the Bolognese with house made pasta. Sauce bursting with flavor, pasta was cooked perfectly. My colleague order the Scallop Pasta and said it was amazing. The scallops were cook correctly, caramelized... More

I ordered Vitello al Funghi and my friend ordered rack of lamb and they all were all right. The taste was nothing special, just normal flavor. I would't visit again unless I have a reason.

Piattini is my go to restaurant! For a quick bite to eat or celebrating a special occasion I am never disappointed. The food, wine, and service are exceptional. I have had four private parties at Piattini, and Josephine always goes above and beyond to make the occasion extra special. She has customized menus, provided themed decorations, and even beautiful flowers.... More

Good creative small plates at decent prices for Newbury street. I really liked the mushroom flatbread, not skimping on the mushrooms. My wife's salad was a bit too boring for her, but overall we liked it.

Found Piattini on the web. Very friendly attentive staff, including the friendly "training" waitress. We shared 3 Piattini. Ravioli stuffed with goats cheese (daily special), aubergine with tomato & cheese, both excellent, & caprese (slightly lacking in flavour.) To follow my husband choose sword fish (daily special) & I had pasta with scampi, tomatoes and white wine sauce. Both excellent... More

The food was good, but nothing fantastic. Perhaps we had been spoiled by dinners at other restaurants. Staff was attentive, but again, nothing special.

Staying in Back Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
