We're vacationing in Boston for 5 days from Georgia and had a phenomenal experience at Abe & Louie's. At first, I was a little upset with how close the tables were because it felt like I was at an 8 top with 6 people I didn't know, but, everyone was nice and a bottle of wine helped me loosen up.... This place has that old school steakhouse ambience about it.... wood panels, waiters wearing jackets and generous cuts of beef. I came in for a business lunch and was told I had to order the steak sandwich and french onion soup, which I did with little argument. The french onion soup was on point, very flavorful with a generous dollop... More

Your typical steakhouse ambiance and atmosphere. A lot of businessman on a weekday night. They have outdoor seating in the summer. I eat there often for lunch and occasionally for dinner. The food is always and consistently great. The steaks are delicious and the sides generous though sometimes heavy. The seven layer chocolate cake is huge, but to die for.... More

I wish there was a button that I could click for "BEST STEAKHOUSE IN THE US!!!!" Abe and Louie's was fantastic! Simply awesome! We went Friday night, had a great table near the fireplace, and an awesome waiter named Paul waited on us. We didn't have to ask for anything, Paul was always one step ahead of us and so... More

Let me begin by saying that Abe and Louie's has been my go-to steak house for more years than I care to relate. The food was always terrific, the service impeccable, and the enjoyment always consistent. HOWEVER, on my recent experience on New Year's Day, I was quite disappointed. My expectations exceeded the experience. Let's begin with the rolls. The... More

This is a fantastic restaurant. Great food, great drink & great atmosphere. Some wait staff could step it up a notch to match the pricing and reputation, but most everything was wonderful.

Upon entering the restaurant, our first impressions was that it was busy and very dark. We had a short wait before being called through to our table about 10 minutes later. It wasn't ideally located really - we were jutting out a bit into the main run and felt slightly in the way, almost like we were stuck in the... More

We haven't been there in a few years and were told that it went down hill by friends. "Wrong". Had the bone in filet cooked to perfection with sautéed spinach and asparagus and a California Cab. Treat yourself on a special occasion, it's pricey but worth every penny.

We went for dinner the day after Christmas. It was great to see the place tastefully decorated for the season. There was even music that kept us in the mood. The restaurant is really nice. We got a table overlooking Boylston Street and it was great to watch life go by as we enjoyed two of the best steaks we... More
