Great place - great food! more

We eat at Abe & Louie's about 5 times a year. I have only had to send my steak back once because it was too tough. They are expensive, but I think the food is excellent .. especially the ice cream with chocolate sauce (the chocolate sauce is sooooo good)! more

My first impression of Abe & Louie's was poor, as the host couldn't seem to find the reservation I had called in two days earlier, and curtly told me to stand in the lobby and wait until the rest of my party arrived. This used to be one of our all time favorite places...the best for steaks, anywhere. But a recent visit makes me think they're coasting on past reputation. At $40+ per steak, you'd expect perfection, but two of the dinners at our table were worthy of a "send back" (but we didn't want to ruin the rest of our guests' evening... more
