The restaurant is your typical modern steakhouse look. Nice and busy bar and pleasant dining area. Service was courteous but not overly friendly not to say that they were rude in any way. Appetizers and desert were excellent. Steak were good but on the salty side for both my wife and I. Wine list is extensive and prices were fair. more

Although their thick, juicy steaks are on a par with other high-end steakhouses (I had the dry aged 14oz NY Strip), the real star is the enviable 54-page wine list. Where else could you do a LaFitte Rothschild vertical on any given Tuesday? Of course, you may need to bring your credit references if you are planning to go for... more

We had asked the concierge at our hotel to recommend a good steak restaurant. He said Grill 23 was the best steak in town. Maybe we weren't specific enough but we didn't think to ask about the noise level and busy atmosphere of this restaurant. We were given a table in the middle of the room on the first floor;... more

Imagine the meat loaf served in a diner in paradise--that's what we enjoyed most--modest food wonderfully prepared and courteously presented. Very good and imaginative halibut dishes as well. Pricey but worth it for an occasional indulgence. more

One night in Boston and could not have chosen a better restaurant ! My husband had the Filet while I had the Prime Rib. It could have fed a family (Flintstone size) and was cooked to perfection !! Drinks at the bar prior to dinner the potato chips were incredible (don't think crunchy processed potato chips) think tender, spiced and... more

On one occasion I had terrible service - actually felt they were trying to embarrass me in front of the group I was hosting. I had ordered a medium rare steak that came to me well done. When asked if I could get one medium rare they proceeded to bring one that was raw. On another occasion my steak was... more

My Wife and I decided to go to the Grill 23 & Bar last night, mainly due to the reviews here at trip advisor, but also because it was near our hotel (Jurys hotel). We have had some wonderful meals throughout our stay in New York and Boston, but unfortunately, this wasn’t one of them. Firstly, there are no prices... more

The food is ok but not worth the price they charge for. The atmosphere is like old gentleman's club and very LOUD. Not a good place for a romantic dinner. more

Steak was amazing. Price was intimidating but it's worth it... every once in a long while. more

Hands down the best "old fashioned" cocktail anyone's ever made for me, and that's saying a lot. Great steak - I had the steak au pauvre with a glass of Malbec. The ambience is classic Boston / classic steakhouse, with a lot of hardwood and a clubby, open atmosphere that's unpretentious and lively. Would go back in a heartbeat. Service... more
