We had excellent salade nicoise and French onion soup in a crock--reminiscent of brasseries in France and Belgium. Service rather inattentive and hoity-toity, but less insolent than some waiters in France. more

We used to go to Brasserie Jo regularly for a dependable if unexciting pre-concert dinner before walking over to Symphony Hall (which is located in a restaurant wasteland). However, the past two times, the service has been slow and the food, even the "signature" steak frites, overcooked. A fish special was inedible, except for those who enjoy cardboard. more
I had the most annoying experience here. The food is just average but they want people to think that they are all that. The atmosphere is dull beyond belief and the service is horrible. more

I visited Brasserie JO for 2008 Restaurant week. The $20.08 prix fixe lunch was an overall satisfactory meal. The appetizer course was the winner of my meal, a chicken live pate with country bread toast that was extremely flavorful. they served me deli ham for a panini that was supposed to have "jambon de bayonne" and the chef said the deli ham was in fact jambon de bayonne, what a joke. feel bad for the rest of the clients who actually eat it and get ripped off. more
