We had a 6:30 reservation on a Saturday night and were seated within 5 minutes. The service was quick but a bit harried; we had to ask our server to clear the salad and bread plates when our entrees were served. I enjoyed my gnocchi, but my sangria just tasted like juice and water. My husband ordered the chicken cacciatore;... More

You get good basic Italian food at Mother Anna's and in very big portions. Bring a good appetite or ask for a doggie bag, if you don't think that's tacky (I do). The Sangria they have is excellent, I had chicken marsala, which I could not finish and calamari to start. This is not haute cuisine, but great food if... More

On our visit to Boston, we definitely wanted to eat on the famous Hanover Street for Italian food. We were given a couple of recommendations, but those had 1.5-2 hour wait times and we were just too hungry to wait that long! We stumbled upon Mother Anna's as it was a beautiful night and saw they had a couple of... More

This wasn't my first visit to Mother Anna's. This time I ordered Chicken Marsala, and it was to die for! Absolutely the best I ever tasted. The others in my party were equally pleased with their dinner. I completely recommend this restaurant.

It was my first time visiting Boston, and as a LOVER of carbs in the form of Italian food, this restaurant came highly recommended by a friend that grew up on Boston. It did not disappoint! I ordered the stuffed manicotti, and it was delicious! The portion was a little big, but that was nothing that a take home box... More

First time in boston, my wife and i were looking for a terrasse in the little italy, and this restaurant had the perfect spot for us... But, this is only what they have. We spent 80$ for the dinner. I asked for a beer and i received it at the end of this terrible meal. I took the special chicken,... More

The first time eating here, the food was fantastic, service very good and left feeling "we can't wait to come back!" Second time.... not so much. Wish I could say better things but we spent a good deal of money and left feeling quite let down. Sorry, Mother Anna's, but we won't be returning. Too bad because we really wanted... More

Second trip to the North End for Italian. After a number of folks recommended this restaurant to us we finally got to make a visit to it on our last night in Boston. We were not disappointed. Excellent service nice ambience, and SUPER FOOD!!! We had a party of six, and we went from simple (spaghetti and meatballs) all the... More
