Good food!

We had dinner here for the first time recently. Food was good. I had the mussels off the appetizer menu. They were delicious and the portion was huge! My husband had the veal parm and he said it was very tasty. I also had the sangria which was very tasty. The only thing we were disappointed in... read more

Had the mother Anna shrimp.... So this was one of those times where the ingredients you love come together just the way you want. This dish was fantastic. It was lunch on the patio. Cold Perini and this....just can't wait to do it again.

5pm on a Wed. We wanted to sit outside on patio----3 staffers were hanging out talking to each other out side with a sign that said go inside to be seated. Ok we did, it was empty and a man says you can sit outside we told him the situation and he brought us out to be seated.( he removed... More

Four of us had lunch outside at Mother Anna's. It was a beautiful day to enjoy the Boston city views at the same time. Our friend introduced us to the owner which made the occasion even more special. The food was wonderful. The tomato sauce was fantastic. The portions were ample. You can't go wrong with anything you order. There... More

This place has a lot going for it, fantastic location, great old building, outdoor dining, friendly and knowledgeable wait staff, large portions. My husband had the veal parmesan and it was huge! I had the lasagna. However, their red sauce is so salty, it overpowered our dishes and we couldn't really taste much else. We like this kind of old-school... More

-- very lackluster food and service. It's the first establishment that you come to in North End, right on the corner of Hanover and Cross. Their fare is very standard, classic Italian (American variety) but the quality is barely average. My breaded veal Margarita was not a very good cut of veal, poorly breaded, very oily, and the mozzarella was... More

Place has been there for 85 years for a reason. Homemade everything that was delicious. The tomato sauce was amazing.

This restaurant tends to be very different then the other ones on this block. The restaurant has more of a homely touch. Though the restaurant could use some renovating (bathrooms mostly:( ) the food was flavorful and delicious with a fair price! The service was fast and our waiter was kind and helpful! Thanks Mother Annas for the delicious food!

Take it from a person who has eaten lots of Italian food at home and in restaurants all around Boston. Mother Anna's is a typical old school Italian restaurant. Like all real Italian restaurants the bread is day old!!! The gnocchi is pretty good, not as good as my mother's but still not bad. The eggplant rollatini is off the... More
