Over my head (in more ways than one) but I know a good thing when I see it...

My wife and I met in France, but I confess that my palate is more Irish than French. There are a number of things I don't, can't, or won't "do" -- truffles, mushrooms, or any other kind of fungus, snails, etc. Having said that, let me also say that this was a FABULOUS restaurant, with good (and... read more

My husband and I celebrated new years eve this year at Troquet. The atmosphere was intimate, the tasting menu was incredible. The wine list is exceptionally priced. Service was excellent, as a fun new years eve treat, noise makers, hats and horns were handed out to count down the hour. I will definitely be back to this gem of a... More

I started with the appetizer of lobster crepe, which consists of tightly rolled stuffed crepes and a tart sauce. Delicious. The roast chicken with chanterelles was perfectly cooked, with a superb crisp skin and a perfect brown sauce. Absolutely first rate. The room, off the Boston Common, is a bit dingy, but it doesn't detract from the food.

We went to Troquet for a pre-movie birthday dinner, and from the moment we stepped in the door we were treated with phenomenal service. From the wine-pairing to the impeccable presentation of the food, to the burst of flavor in each bite, we enjoyed every minute of our dinner. I especially loved the foie gras appetizer and it came prepared... More

You'll find this restaurant has wonderful wine, exquisite food and lovely views of the Boston Common. It was a delightful stop for dinner during our holiday dash about town. The Painted Hills Beef Duo I tried was so tender you could cut it with a fork and the sauce was a pure delight. The roasted potatoes that accompanied the dish... More

Well.... our waiter appeared a little nervous and uneducated about the food he was serving but, his querkyness made up for it. The decor was nice and fit the food they served. The location of the restaurant was right next to Boston Commons Park, which was nice and within walking distance to the Wilbur Theater. The food was... nice but... More

Troquet is one of my all time favorite bars in Boston. It is always nice and quiet, it is truly a hidden gem. Pop in for a flight of wine. They have some fantastic wines to choose from. The Sauvignon Blanc sampler is fantastic as well. Also request a free sample of the nuts - they melt in your mouth... More

The food was excellent, especially the pumpkin soup that was 'to die for' and the bavarian lemon dessert . Good dining choice for the theatre district.

This is, as others have said, a great restaurant - with a lovely view over the Common - but I feel it just falls short of excellent in terms of food, service and ambience. Great wine list.

We dined here for a very special dinner and the intimate setting and very friendly staff made the evening. The food was exceptional and they even had our favourite champagne. My only complaint is that they only had half bottles and not full bottles but we got round that by having 2!
