Troquet a Cozy, yet Sophisticated Dining Delight

A view of a what was once a peasant cemetery lining the outskirts of Boston Common doesn't necessarily scream out 'romantic dining experience.' Across from this morose setting, however, lies the illustrious Troquet, a Theater District treasure of a restaurant now 14 years young in its existence that delivers the liveliest of dining experiences. Somehow lurking inexplicably in the shadows... More

We had a great table overlooking Boston Common which the brilliant concierge at the four seasons (a few blocks down) had reserved for us. The menu and wine list are excellent and, for what is being offered, reasonably prices. There's an odd feel to the service here though which some other reviewers have hinted at - erratic and unprofessional. It's... More

A truly wonderful meal, from beginning to end. Definitely more on the 'fancy' side of things (don't go looking for a Caesar Salad--one of my personal faves!). A really great experience.

Everything is excellent in this restaurant. The food is very creative, for example ceasar salad - is not served in the usual way, but with a twist - excellent, the beetroot salad - excellent, everything we've tasted - creative and excellent - one of the best restaurants I've been to. The view is very nice - to the park (even... More

Wonderful food, such as the ricotta cavatelli with truffles and some of the best chicken in Massachusetts. Sea bass was outstanding -- fishy enough instead of bland. Excellent view of Boston Common, although if you are further back in this small restaurant it could be a bit gloomy. Wine list is unbelievable, but it is very expensive, with almost no... More

Came in here with a group of 5 and sat at one of the most outstanding tables with a view in Boston. In is on the 2nd floor of the restaurant and overlooks Boston Common. Troquet has been a Boston fine dining staple for a long time and for some reason I feel it is often overlooked. This is an... More

I would rate this restaurant between 5 to 10 best restaurant in Boston. Quality of food is excellent, and I was really surprise by the wine witch is offered at reasonable price. Decor is average.

I have walked by this place many times If you peer in it looks like a dark empty space with a tiny bar in front But the restaurant is upstairs The upstairs is a little small and dark but pleasant The service unpretentious and attentive The food is really exceptionally good and very well prepared Not cheap More than worth... My wife and I met in France, but I confess that my palate is more Irish than French. There are a number of things I don't, can't, or won't "do" -- truffles, mushrooms, or any other kind of fungus, snails, etc. Having said that, let me also say that this was a FABULOUS restaurant, with good (and patient) service, excellent...
