larry's review.

it is just a glorious restaurant. Food, service and ambience are a delight. Adding words does not improve the review.

You can't do better than Mistral. It's absolutely flawless. Expensive, but flawless. Make this a special night out.

Lovely high ceiling room, good efficient service, v good food (portions too big!), been around for 18 years and still feels fresh, busy and relevant.... One of Boston great places for a relaxed, friendly evening with friends or family... It's sister restaurant Sorelina is v good too.

We had a wonderful and delicious early summer evening at Mistral in the South End. Our first visit to this elegant Provence-inspired bistro was magical, with great food, great wine, attentive service and delightful ambiance. It was an all-seafood evening for us and our guests. Tasty tuna tartare and branzino crudo appetizers were followed by entrees of halibut and swordfish.... More

A sophisticated, classy, French restaurant with an excellent menu. I had the tomato gazpacho and the sirloin, and both were excellent. The decor is suitably chic, and the staff was just the right level of attentive--once they finally came to our table. The only thing keeping Mistral from a five star review was the fact that it took about twenty... More

I've had several meals at Mistral. It has definitely become a mainstay for a consistent, fine-dining experience. I've never had a bad meal here. Service has always been on point. The menu is extensive and delicious (portions are very generous and ingredient quality is very high). Excellent wine list. If you need flawless execution (for a date, business dinner, or... More

My husband and I had a "mixed" experience at Mistral recently. The service was very good. We loved the lively atmosphere and diverse crowd. We shared an excellent white Bordeaux with dinner (the wine list is very good). My husband ordered soft shell crab, which was excellent, for the first course. I ordered escargot, which was so so. Both of... More

Just left a Saturday night meal at this restaurant and, as usual, Trip Advisor reviewers do not mislead. Even though Mistral was jam packed, we were never rushed; our server was attentive but let us enjoy our meal and savor the atmosphere. We had thin-crust pizza, green salad, the Halibut, and a fresh strawberry dessert. All were just terrific; my... More

This was my first time to Mistral. My husband and I booked a table for two at 9pm (we were coming from the Cape in a limo and didn't want to rush) and the restaurant was in full swing when we arrived. It was a beautiful room with high ceilings. I was surprised on how romantic it still felt in... More

What a nice change to be able to get a pizza at a restaurant known for fine dining! When you're on holiday you often crave some simpler food but like getting dressed up and having nice wine, good service etc. This ticks all the boxes!
