The signature dish at Legal Sea Foods - really fresh fish. Enjoy ocean-side dining just steps from the New England Aquarium. Our restaurant couldn't be more convenient to the Financial District, Freedom Trail, Faneuil Hall and waterfront hotels. We think a visit to Boston must include a meal at Legal Sea Foods. Legal Sea Foods has long proven that a consistent, high quality dining experience never goes out of style. With over 40 varieties of fresh fish and shellfish available throughout the year as well as an award-winning wine list, there's no doubt why legions of fans have fallen hook, line and sinker. We've received a boatload of accolades including "Most Popular Boston Restaurant" (Zagat, 2011/2012), "Best Seafood Restaurant" (Improper Bostonian, 2010), "Best Chowder" (Boston Magazine, 2010), "Best Seafood Restaurant" (Boston Phoenix, 2009) and the honor of serving our legendary New England Clam Chowder at every presidential inauguration since 1981.

Very good location, very good food and excellent staff

We needed a place for lunch that was out of the hot sun and wanted some good seafood. We decided to try to crab cake, as it looked quite good. It was a fairly generous portion, tasted good, but still could not compare to Maryland's crab cakes. The waitress said the crab came from the east coast... read more

Very disappointed in the food. Fried battered shrimp was just a pile of tasteless dough. Our friend had a sandwich and was sick for hours after. would never go back.

Food was good but service was just ok. Waiter acted as though we were interfering with his evening. Other places much better for the price

Our server Sean C was lovely and very friendly. The chowder was amazing. We would highly recommend legal sea food.

We were really looking forward to seeing & tasting what the Legal Seafood hype was all about but first impressions reminded of a busy & noisy chain restaurant in the vein of Red Lobster and Bubba Gump. But although we waited a little too long for an entree (25 minutes and the place was wasn't full) the food was a... More

The chef must have been off this night as the meal was greasy and apparently fried in old shortening as evidenced by the darkness of the food. Service was very good which was impressive considering that the restaurant was very busy. More attention should be given to quality control in the kitchen.

It's in the middle of a major tourist spot. We wanted Lobster, it was Saturday night (5/23), we got reservations. The place was bustling. Our waitress was excellent. We were not rushed. The lobster was a little tough (over steamed) but good. We don't regret the one visit but the next time we will try another seafood restaurant.

It was pricey though... Wine can also be very expensive here. The roll was nice and warm, with lots of lobster, and butter.

My uncle wanted to know where was one of the best places to eat. This was one friend's suggestion, and I agreed right away that it was a good choice. And so we went. Great food, enjoyable staff, just what we needed while walking the town from one end to the other.

Food is not bad by any means but there are other places that are better. Without a question for lunch, but dinner as well. This place has an established name so it attracts the crowds though. Do yourself a favor and skip it.
