The signature dish at Legal Sea Foods - really fresh fish. Enjoy ocean-side dining just steps from the New England Aquarium. Our restaurant couldn't be more convenient to the Financial District, Freedom Trail, Faneuil Hall and waterfront hotels. We think a visit to Boston must include a meal at Legal Sea Foods. Legal Sea Foods has long proven that a consistent, high quality dining experience never goes out of style. With over 40 varieties of fresh fish and shellfish available throughout the year as well as an award-winning wine list, there's no doubt why legions of fans have fallen hook, line and sinker. We've received a boatload of accolades including "Most Popular Boston Restaurant" (Zagat, 2011/2012), "Best Seafood Restaurant" (Improper Bostonian, 2010), "Best Chowder" (Boston Magazine, 2010), "Best Seafood Restaurant" (Boston Phoenix, 2009) and the honor of serving our legendary New England Clam Chowder at every presidential inauguration since 1981.

Now THIS is sea food!

I love living in Colorado. The mountains are breathtaking. Outdoor activities abound. The winter's--mostly mild and snowy. Over 360 days of sun where I live. You can't beat it! What you can't get, though, is FRESH sea food. Imagine my joy when we had lunch here during the week of the Boston... read more

Everything, from the drinks, the rolls, the chowder, the oysters, the entrees ,down to the service ,was great! Our server was fab, with good suggestions and prompt service, always with a smile and upbeat. Clam chowder was very good, better than the lobster bisque. Raw oysters were the best. All our entrees were good, including the crab cake, the artic... More

Wonderful place to eat if you love sea food. Had oysters and panko crusted deep fried tuna with seaweed salad. Was perfectly prepared and delicious. Restaurant was clean and staff was friendly and attentive to detail. Would recommend this restaurant to any sea food lover.

I literally flew through the boston airport to get a lobster here. They have the perfect way to steam it, They even get it out of the shell for you.

Reservations were made for our large group several weeks ago. Upon arrival there was far too much confusion and the tables that were promissed were not available so our group was split up after a half hour wait. Our waitress was lethargic and extremely slow. Drink orders were incorrect and only appetizers were allowed to be ordered at first. Many... More

Great unpretentious food served with genuine passion and attention to detail at reasonable prices. Great lobster ..so fresh and tasty it came out of the shell in whole sections, fresh mussels and clams. All to be dipped in a warm butter sauce and accompanied with fries and a seaweed salad . Oysters so fresh you really could taste the sea.... More

This was on the list of 3 to 5 places people told me i HAVE to go to in Boston. Some of those recommendations (i.e. Mike's Pastry, Regina's Pizzeria) were worth every bit of the hype and notoriety, but not so much Legal Seafood. The decor was a bit 80's / 90's (and not in an intentionally retro way) and... More

A little disappointed, husband order signature crab cake combo $31.00, consisting of one crab cake, 5 grilled shrimp, 3 scallops medium size, and about a half cup of greens..not bad but not outstanding. I had the fish and chips for $17, and shared some with him. Mine was good and husband liked mine better. Husband also had a cup of... More

Order the chowder, order anything. Fresh, fresh, fresh. We sat at the bar and enjoyed good service, great food. Grilled shrimp, grilled swordfish, delicious. Can't beat it.
