The signature dish at Legal Sea Foods - really fresh fish. Enjoy ocean-side dining just steps from the New England Aquarium. Our restaurant couldn't be more convenient to the Financial District, Freedom Trail, Faneuil Hall and waterfront hotels. We think a visit to Boston must include a meal at Legal Sea Foods. Legal Sea Foods has long proven that a consistent, high quality dining experience never goes out of style. With over 40 varieties of fresh fish and shellfish available throughout the year as well as an award-winning wine list, there's no doubt why legions of fans have fallen hook, line and sinker. We've received a boatload of accolades including "Most Popular Boston Restaurant" (Zagat, 2011/2012), "Best Seafood Restaurant" (Improper Bostonian, 2010), "Best Chowder" (Boston Magazine, 2010), "Best Seafood Restaurant" (Boston Phoenix, 2009) and the honor of serving our legendary New England Clam Chowder at every presidential inauguration since 1981.

Fresh seafood...always.

All of the legal seafood restaurants have excellent, fresh seafood. Pretty much anything you get will be fresh and delicious. You're not going to be blown away with wild flavor bu that's not a bad thing if you really love the flavor of simple, fresh seafood that is prepared properly. Location wise... read more

Recently we went on holiday to Boston, and I was all about the lobster! One day while we were in town I had lobster for breakfast, for lunch, and for dinner - it was a good day to be alive! My "dinner" lobster was at Legal's at Long Wharf, and it was soooo good. I had the whole lobster with... More

Several weeks ago, we made a reservation for 7 people in the upstairs, more upscale dining-room, to entertain customers during a professional show. A few days before the show, we were notified that "the person who took our reservation should not have done so because the entire room had been reserved for a private event that night". Obviously a lie... More

I went for lunch with my husband and young son and we were underwhelmed. Although we arrived during the lunch rush, the restaurant was only semi-full. We still waited for 40 minutes for our food, and when it arrived everything was lukewarm at best. I love hot fries and onion rings and these had clearly sat around for a while.... More

Great restaurant and service, always crowded, so you might have to wait and seating arrangements are tight. Still worth the visit, baked lobster is excellent, we had a real feast for NYE and were fully charged for midnight stroll when we left. A+++

All Legals are very good but this one is exceptional. Service and decor is the best! It is also located in one of the most interesting areas.

We visited here after a trip to the aquarium with the family and were not disappointed. We did not have a reservation and it was a busy Saturday evening but they managed to fit us in. They were really great with the children and we really could not fault any of the food. The service was extremely good and we... More

I actually should state that they had the best calimari I've ever had. It was beautifully cooked, light and tender without even a hint of rubberiness. But, more importantly, my meal consisted of raw oysters, raw clams, and fish chowder. It was my first time eating raw clams, but it was obvious they were fresh and wonderful, as were the... More

We had a customer cocktail party on the top floor of Legal Seafood. The staff was phenomenal to work with. The location was perfect. We had the event at the end of October so the weather was iffy. There was indoor and outdoor space. Our guests took advantage of both. They put space heaters on the decks so there wasn't... More
