The signature dish at Legal Sea Foods - really fresh fish. Enjoy ocean-side dining just steps from the New England Aquarium. Our restaurant couldn't be more convenient to the Financial District, Freedom Trail, Faneuil Hall and waterfront hotels. We think a visit to Boston must include a meal at Legal Sea Foods. Legal Sea Foods has long proven that a consistent, high quality dining experience never goes out of style. With over 40 varieties of fresh fish and shellfish available throughout the year as well as an award-winning wine list, there's no doubt why legions of fans have fallen hook, line and sinker. We've received a boatload of accolades including "Most Popular Boston Restaurant" (Zagat, 2011/2012), "Best Seafood Restaurant" (Improper Bostonian, 2010), "Best Chowder" (Boston Magazine, 2010), "Best Seafood Restaurant" (Boston Phoenix, 2009) and the honor of serving our legendary New England Clam Chowder at every presidential inauguration since 1981.

Lunch

We enjoyed a quick lunch. Wait staff was attentive and helpful. Even gave us some tips for our trip. Food was very yummy but expensive for a lunch for 2. Lobstah roll was very enjoyable with LOTS of lobster. Crab cake was also very enjoyable - fresh and seasoned well. They took care of us well and... read more

Long ago when I visited Boston there was only one (or maybe two) Legal Seafood's, and it was the place to go. Today it is next to the Marriot and about as good as you local Red Lobster. I would imagine that maybe there goal is to get that big. We had to wait about 45 minutes only to have... More

We have eaten here for years. The clam chowder is famous and always delicious. We have always thought the food here was good but this trip seemed to be better than usual. We had the fried seafood sampler and the crab cakes. Both were delicious. The children menu is great and the service is always attentive. This is a great... More

Had highly anticipated our meal here. The menu was full of variety. That was a plus. The beverages were full of variety. Another plus. The atmosphere was great as you enjoyed clean surroundings, tables, and current decor. The food was good. The food was prepared and presented as I had hoped. The portions were definitely American as each person's face... More

Dined here for lunch and was told by others that while in Boston, I had to try the seafood, particularly clam chowder or a lobster roll. While dining at Legal Sea Foods, I chose the latter, with a side of french fries and seaweed salad. I chose to sit at a bar that looked onto the kitchens, but the view... More

It was recommended we have dinner here and we were not disappointed. The crab cakes were so good, just thinking about it makes me want to go back. We both had seafood and love it. Friendly staff and right at the harbor so it was great to be able to go for a walk after eating our meal. We would... More

I had a dinner with my wife. We were late for the restaurant by 18 minutes and our reservation was cancelled because they do that in case the reserved parties do not show up until 15 minutes later than the booked time. Fortunately, we could get a table after waiting for 10 minutes at the reception. For appetizer, we ordered... More

Beautiful water views and an ambience that makes one linger, this restaurant nourishes the stomach and soul. Food is fresh and plentiful. Clam chowder and shrimp cocktail didn't disappoint. Attentive service was spot on! Definitely going back!

OK, so we're not seafood aficionado's, but we were fairly disappointed, especially for the price! My son's lobster was overcooked. We ordered salads with our dressing on the side, but they smothered it in dressing. We all left hungry!

My wife & I wanted a light dinner after a long tourist day and decided to stop by this well advertised establishment. Wow!!! Were we impressed or what??? We sat at the oyster bar and Chef Jose C. heard us debating light dining options and he came over voluntarily and offered to help create something special for my wife, which... More
