Cheap and quite cheerful

Saturday night, very busy with locals, always a good sign. Great menu, attentive service and great value. Food arrived promptly and iced water offered too. Generous portions and really very good. Happy experience, good choice!

Having lived in Malaysia and Singapore for a few years, I can tell you that the food is pretty authentic. The cuisine represents Chinese, Malay and Indian dishes found in Malaysia and Singapore. I especially like Penang poh piah, roti canal with a dipping curry and the satay as appetizers. The Hokkien mee and char kueh teow tend to be... More

They were very good at handling big group. Our group of about 17 went there on a Saturday night. The food was pretty good and the service was excellent. It is definitely one of the better restaurants in China town. I would go back.

Decided to try this restaurant and wanted to eat a dish with noodles. After five minutes talking with waitress, she finally got the order and went to place it. Upon arrival of the dish, she brought a loaded dish with chicken and sprouts. Told her I didn't order that and her response was, "what you don't want no more". Heck... More

The decor will remind you of the outdoor cafes in KL. The dishes are tasty and each full of flavor and just enough spice to let you know you're not at home for this meal. Try the coconut water with pieces of coconut in the glass and have been soaked to be tender for those wanting to take a bite.... More

Penang in Chinatown Boston has been serving local and tourist diners for many, many years. We had so many dinners there with and without friends, and likely feeling satisfied. Pricing is probably the top reason, next to that on top of the list is location, and service is ok like many Asian restaurant, though not remarkable but attentive enough for... More

This is the real deal! Rare to find Malaysian restaurant that brings together a crossroads menu reflecting the culture of Malaysia. Offerings includes Malaysian, Cantonese, Indian, and Vietnamese items. Service was spot on and our waiters were multilingual. Waiting line to get in on a Saturday night...about 10-15 minutes. Totally worth the wait because our sea bass arrived in a... More

I had lunch at this restaurant with my friend. The food was so so. We needed to wait for long until our food were finally served. Staff were not nice. One of the waiter who served us spoke very rude with bad English (was kinda mixed with their language, I don't know what language though) when asking to pay them... More

This was our second trip to Penang and it was even better than our first. We started out with Malaysian spring rolls which are mostly lettuce in a steamed wrap but they had a nice, spicy sauce on top that contrasted well with the crispy lettuce. My wife had the Penang Pad Thai which was as good as any we... More
