Consistency!

I have been here many times as I live right nearby. While I wish they would varied the menu a bit more, the quality is very good. My favorites are the seared tuna salad and the crabcake. Also, I tried the egg plant Napoleone for the first time and it was superb. Highly recommended.

Both the hostess and our waiter were standoffish and not friendly. The food was good, especially the lobster mashed potatoes, but we won't go back.

We had noticed this restaurant had good reviews so thought we would try it out. Rather unusually located behind a Gym and accessed via a lift and the Gym entrance, this is a fairly small modern restaurant. The food was well presented and high quality which is what you would expect for the prices. The only small quibble was the... More

Had dinner here with friends on a Saturday night in Boston. The setup was nice inside with a complete glass enclosure. Our waiter was very nice and knowledgeable of the menu. The food was quite good. 2 of us had the sea bass and we were all quite happy with this preparation. The only complaint that we had was the... More

My wife and I were seated by an unfriendly hostess and then were ignored for almost 10 minutes by the wait staff. After finally being attended to, the waiter gave us an excuse about letting us settle in before offering drinks and telling us the specials. Menu looked promising but we didn't stick around to find out.

We went to Blu last night before a show at the Opera House. The location is perfect for a pre - show dinner. The modern décor is beautiful and the view of the city is wonderful. Our party had swordfish, sea bass and salmon as our entrée choices. At the end of the meal all three plates were clean -... More

We arrived with reservations and were told they would not seat us. After some discussion, we showed them our email confirmation and the manager seated us at the absolutely worst table in the restaurant even though there were a dozen empty tables when we came in and were still empty when we left. The food was generally well prepared, my... More

This restaurant is over-priced for what it is. The food was good, but not great. I feel like they overshot, and just couldn't deliver. The view was great, and so was the ambiance (after you shared the elevator with sweaty gym-goers and walked past the juice bar).

I came here with my sister to celebrate her birthday before seeing a show at the Colonial Theater. I had called ahead and they told me they would put a candle on her dessert. I had read in other reviews that you walked through a gym to get to the restaurant but really it's just an elevator lobby that also... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
