Strange concept in a gym building in the theatre district. Well worth visiting. Awesome views of the city, can't beat it. Great food, great wine, great service, great bar area. Thinking about it? Do it. Ask for a table by the window.

Blu is an outstanding restaurant in the theater district of Boston. Excellent food and service in a sophisticated setting overlooking the historic and colorful Paramount Theater marquee. Large portions for a dining experience of this type. Great for a romantic or special dinner.

After seeing the chef on "CBS Saturday Morning" we decided to visit on the final night of our vacation in the Northeast. We are very glad we did! Beautiful open space with modern decor and terrific view of the theater district. Santos was our waiter and did an outstanding job. I got my slightly dirty vodka martini exactly as ordered.... More

located on the fourth floor of the building that houses the Ritz Carlton Residences, Blu is wrapped by two story windows that overlook Washington Street and surrounds. One of the first 1960's retro restaurants to open in Boston (in 2004) Blu is minimalist modern in decor. I was disconcerted upon first entering Blue after exiting the elevator. There was glass... Went to Blu with another couple for a business dinner. Was given a really nice table, lots of space, un crowded, and easy conversation. Had several different fish dishes and one vegetarian dish. All were extremely fresh! But no seasoning! Even the wild mushroom soup, though perfectly prepared ingredient wise tasted like dish water-not really, but it great need of... More

My first visit to Blu, and I was not dissapointed! Had dinner with a party of 4.....the ambiance was very open, big city vibe. Big windows. Our waiter was SPOT ON! We told him we had a show to go to, and he kept the meal nicely paced, without us feeling rushed. The table foccacio / olive oil was ok,... More

There had been great reviews of the restaurant bout what we got was poor showing and not worth the price. First of all, the dining room was closed - maybe when we made reservations somehow we could have been told that there was to be a loud party there. That meant we were in the bar. The whole set up... I have been a patron at this restaurant over the past 6 years and up until this year it was always great. I guess the chef left? I don't know but a lot of the great items they had on the menu are no longer there or are now totally different, right down to the bread they serve. I still... More

Enjoyed a lovey dinner with friends prior to the ballet just up brightly lit Washington St. The view from our table was delightful as the neighborhood transitions from offices, shops, theaters and gateway to Chinatown with addition of upscale city living. Arriving at 5:30, the restaurant was nearly empty, within an hour it was bustling. Although the service was a... More

Where to start: I had made my reservation about a week in advance and requested a window table - didn't get that but no biggie - it is a small area but it does have a great view of the city. But we were early diners as we were going to a show that evening. First I ordered a bottle... More
