A good bargain for dim sum

I came here during a lunch break during a conference at the Boston Convention Center- only a very short bus ride (Silver Like to South Station) and walk from the BCEC. It was fairly quiet when I got there (1:15 pm), so I was seated immediately. A very cheery woman with a food cart approached and... read more

Once we arrived we were seated immediately, this was a weekday around dinner time. I am neither here or there with the food. I feel like some of the food was already prepped and re-heated, I know restaurants do this but ensure the temparture of the food. I would suggest the Calamari, the Lobster, the Scorpion Bowl and a couple... More

Great dim sum! We loved everything that we chose, although many carts did not come our way. We missed out on salads and seafood. The whole place needs an overhaul and the restroom was horrible. That being said, this is the second time we have been there and the food is good. We will return!

This China town area is nice but not what I was expecting. They have a great archway in front of the China town. The Cho Chow restaurant is easy to find. Once you enter the restaurant it is very noticeable to see the place is very dirty. It stands out from the moment you enter the front door. They did... More

Midweek is when to go to Chau Chow. Place was mostly empty and we had 2-3 waiters working our table of 9. Brightly lit with a big screen showing the Celtics game, it was not a haute dining ambiance. However, the food is well prepared, shows up rather quickly and is nice and hot. Service is typical for a Chinatown... More

We managed to find a parking spot next to the restaurant which is fantastic considering how difficult it is to find open air parking lots in downtown Boston. We were ushered in efficiently and seated within minutes. The yum cha ladies promptly push their trollies over ( just like the old days in Hong Kong ) and you get served... More

I love a good Dim Sum and this was some of the best that I have had!!! The service was good, and judging by the number of people in the restaurant at lunch, it is popular with locals too! I can see why!

Worst yum cha or dim sum ever. Let me preface this by saying we have had yum cha in Hong Kong, NYC and Sydney, Aust. We have eaten some pretty amazing yum cha and this was pretty much inedible. I feel sad that a city's Chinatown should put forward such a sad offering.

The prices at Chau Chow City were generally cheap, except some dishes like noodle soups were around $16, which seemed a little high for Chinatown. The restaurant itself was big, clean, and nice. The portions were huge, and the staff was very friendly and attentive. The food itself was good, not great; it was a little greasy and not extremely... More

Popped in for dinner last night on the recommendation of a travel guide as we were in the area. Waiter was unhelpful and not interested in us at all.Gave no advice on portion sizes or what we would be served. Ordered 2 appetisers, 2 meals and f.rice. Appetisers arrived in no time at all-just started tucking in when secounds later... More
