Description: Meritage Restaurant + Wine Bar is known for its excellence in wine and...
Meritage Restaurant + Wine Bar is known for its excellence in wine and food pairings. The connection between wine and food, as well as Chef Daniel Bruce's deeply-rooted ties with vintners from around the world, are integrated throughout the dining experience - from the wine aperitif pairing that guests enjoy with their Amuse Bouche to the olive oil poured tableside from a different featured vineyard each month. Chef Bruce works with vineyards across the globe to source ingredients exclusively for Meritage that are incorporated into the menu, including citrus, spices, herbs, nuts, meats and other specialty items grown on the vineyards. The Meritage menu honors the restaurant's hallmark of matching wine to food and showcases Chef Bruce's extraordinary dedication to the finest ingredients. Native to New England, Chef Bruce has established longstanding relationships with local farmers and purveyors, and bases his menus solely on ingredients at the peak of freshness. Working with unusual and varied ingredients allows each dish on the menu to be unique while simultaneously enhancing the wine's flavor.

While the food was excellent and beautifully presented and service was nearly top-tier, the wine-pairing-driven menu was cause for some consternation. First, the server had to spend an inordinate amount of time trying to explain the wine concept, whereas we would have benefited from more detailed descriptions of the menu items. My new wife and I went for a nice honeymoon dinner after reading the reviews online and searching multiple sites. Overall, there were some features we loved, and more we disliked. Service: Jose, our waiter, was fantastic. He was quick to describe the menu and the options we had (being unfamiliar with this restaurant, it was crucial). There was a... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our anniversary dinner last night. Everything was perfect from the atmosphere to the spectacular view to the wonderful good and wine. Couldn't have asked for anything better!

Our party of 14 celebrating a newly graduated family member greatly enjoyed this restaurant: lovely views of the Boston Harbor, attentive, courteous waitstaff, excellent food and great atmosphere all around. Each plate came presented in a lovely manner. Parking is validated, waiving the $31 parking fee one would have had to pay otherwise.

This restaurant is wonderful and mainly for the chef Daniel. Requested soft shell crabs since in season. Chef came out to our table told us that he normally did not have them on the menu but he had a private party the next day requesting them and had a few extra and Would prepare them for me personally. They were... More

For mothers day I don't mind paying more, however, I expect more. This brunch was okay at best. If I was in Richmond VA I could have this brunch with Champagne for half of what I paid here. $99 per person was too much, not even any oysters on the half shell. Another issue was the music was sooo loud... More

After walking around the Boston Harbor hotel for a few minutes until being directed to the second floor to the Meritage, we entered the restaurant. Very pleasantly decorated overlooking Boston harbor, our hostess showed us to our table and the dinner began. The waiter was very knowledgeable on the menu and wine list. But I went for the wine pairing... More

Came into Boston to visit some friends who live at the Long Wharf and was treated to a great meal at this recently remodeled restaurant. The service was outstanding and could not be more helpful. The food was up to the finest standards and all six dishes that we sampled were terrific plus the view of the harbor was wonderful... More

We have been spending special occasions at Meritage for years and have never been disappointed. Being able to choose different sized portions so you can try a number of dishes is a real plus. Their menu is varied and everything is fabulous! We highly recommend it. And the view is spectacular as well!

An attractive room and excellent service, but overall a disappointment. Food was just not fabulous which you expect in a restaurant of this caliber. Not helped by the fact that the three 20 something people eating with their family had their cell phones out the entire time. Why is this tolerated in a fine restaurant? We will not go back.
