I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Boston or just moved. The FOOD is wonderful and the prices are much more reasonable than other places. The only draw back was they needed more help. I realize it's off season, however the bartender was also serving and that isn't the best managerial decision.

Outdoor seating was very nice on the river as we visited late summer early fall. No wait as it was lunch time and the wait staff was very helpful. Nice selection of adult drinks and plenty for the kids. Ordered clam chowder and steamed shrimp along with some crab claws. Everything was very good and the meal was brought to... More

This is most definitely a tourist attraction yet locals go as well. It is very informal and appropriate for all ages. The good is very good for an outdoor eatery but don't go for a five star meal. You are on the water - Boston Harbor - which is a busy harbor so there is lots to see, again, for... More

Nice good weather alternative for being outdoors. Lots of families. Sit in the open air portion and feel as if you're at a fun communal picnic table. Food is fair - not great value. But, hey, it is a taste of boston.

Very down to earth place. Sometimes a bit too much for my taste ... Seafoods very fresh, but lack something. Excellent Bloody Mary! Worth visiting as a tourist attraction, but certainly not for a fancy dinner!

Received a $200 VISA gift card for Christmas. Went to the Barking Crab for a nice lobster dinner while visiting Boston. Food was good, but when we tried to use the VISA gift card for the $150 plus dinner, we were told the restaurant doesn't accept VISA gift cards. They accept VISA credit cards, but not gift cards. The waitress... More

The steamers were cracked and full of shells and the fried oysters had too much breading. The raw oysters were perfectly shucked and presented. The bright spot in the visit was the old building and Jess, one of the servers, who assisted our server who was also bartending! Thank you, Jess!

Talk about how seafood should be eaten...old shack on the bay...literally! Excellent seafood with a rustic feel. The crab legs were fantastic and the taste I had from my daughter's scampi and cousin's fish was just as good. Worth the wait if it gets crowded and it will.

The wood burning pot-bellied stove was a nice touch on a cold December day. The manager kept it stoked with logs.. There was one table next to ours with eight places and no two chairs that were the same. The door to the restroom is really an antique. We had a boiled lobster, peel and eat shrimp and Portugues fish... More
