Barking Crab is a landmark Boston seafood restaurant celebrating our fifteenth season. Located on the Fort Point Channel in Boston's Seaport District, The Barking Crab features fresh crabs, lobsters, and day-boat fish brought in each morning. We feature traditional New England fare served in a funky urban clam-shack setting. We have a full bar including over 15 regional micro brews, cocktails, and an approachable value-priced wine list. We are family friendly and a short 2 minute walk from the Boston Children's Museum. Other area attractions include the Institute of Contemporary Art, Harpoon Brewery, the Harbor-walk, Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, and Boston's Financial District.

Great Casual Atmosphere!

Good food, great lobsters, mussels and overall a fun lunch with the family. The shrimp was a disappointment but the crab and lobster made up for that as did the mussels! Worth a visit but a little touristy which you still have to do once....

We like the ambiance of the place, it feels as if it has been there for 100 years (may be, I don't know) The tables are old and the floors are uneven. A breeze made it just comfortable and you could sit outside if you like. The food was good, not great. Had fried clams, scallops and fish.... Would go... More

Make reservations! Seems to always be busy. It's a very relaxed atmosphere and not a restaurant... More like a pub! Open air environment, covered and heated if needed. Music plays regularly and loud like a bar. Food was very enjoyable. We had crab cakes and fish and chips. Well done and we enjoyed ourselves. Good to come if you're visiting... More

I've been here before, so when our group comes down from Maine, it is kinda where we start out our Boston day as a tradition. We will have to start a new tradition, because the staff was so oblivious and pretentious, after an hour of waiting to be seated, while others who came in later were sat down, we went... More

Although walking up to the Barking Crab you are certainly going to smell the ocean as well as the seafood, your experience inside will be as fresh as you could hope for being so close to the water. The Barking crab has cheap beers, fresh fish, great steamers, as well as fried seafood as well. Definitely a spot to hit... More

Another overpriced tourist trap. If I want fresh seafood, or even really good fried seafood, this isn't the place to go. Even Legal in the seaport would be a better bet.

I live in the Boston waterfront area and I have walked by the Barking Crab a number of times, and decided to visit for a Saturday lunch. The place was completely filled. Sat us at a small bar table for 2. Between the two of us, we had 4 oysters, 4 scallops, 1 small lobster, and 2 cokes and the... More

Good prices near the centre of Boston for good seafood. Lots of drinks available as well so overall a superb place to be! Went for an early dinner on Friday and the place was packed!

Love this place! Our table overlooked the water and we had delicious fish sandwiches for lunch with cold beer of course! It's not right in the middle of everything we found it by accident after leaving a museum. It has old New England decor and it looks like a barn - we waited about 30 minutes for a table but... More

Outstanding seafood. Two out of town employees wanted to taste the seafood and chowder so where else but the Barking Crab. Seafood casserole, chowder and crab legs. The casual atmosphere was all part of the experience. Made a life long impression (positive one) and was the highlight of their trip.
