The service was very attentive, the food was very good (excellent Casar Salad and Chicken Picotollo and Chicken Parm dishes) but it did get noisy at times to the point of not being able to hear each other. The drinks were a little on the small side, but overall this was a nice evening with veryt asty food! Just a... More

I love Gem especially for brunch on sundays! Beautiful atmosphere and people. The meat ball sliders are amazing and also the breakfast pizza. All the food is good here and always a good time! A must go!

This is just a typical club with lights, overpriced drinks, and loud music. Every time I go I feel like it should be fun, but the crowd is lame and the atmosphere leaves something to be desired. If you're into typical clubs with typical crowds, it could be fun.

GEM is a very unusual restaurant for downtown Boston, which focuses on the younger set with its club and nightlife environment. However; this does not preclude the older group from starting a little earlier and enjoying the red velvet, spangle lamp shaded atmosphere of a 1920 speakeasy. You should sit in the bar area to enjoy the ambience. A surprising... More

The dance floor is small and in a back room. Go somewhere else if you are looking for a night of drinks and dancing.

I hosted my husbands 40th bday party at GEM last weekend. We used the upstairs semi private room for dinner for 14ppl and then cleared the dinner set up for the party. everything was fabulous. the room was set up in a U-shape which made it easy to socialize with all, make speeches, and use the room for a cocktail... We showed up at 5:30 for dinner not realizing Gems does not open for dinner until six. A Staff member suggested the Hub Pub next door for a drink in the meantime. Drinks at the Hub Pub were $5 for house wine...at Gem's house wine was $11/glass...just saying... Returned later for dinner and we were seated in the bar area... More
