Decent BBQ for Boston

Not really attentive bar staff, but they were pretty busy. The food was good, the atmosphere was fine for BBQ and watching the game. Probably wouldn't take a date here, but would definitely meet up with friends for some beers, food and catching a game again.

We found this BBQ restuarant while visiting Northeastern University. The menu was limited, the food was OK the service was outstanding.

If you want wonderful slow cooked meat with simple sides at reasonable prices then this is the place. It's a lovely contrast to the normal food along Boylson st. In my humble opinion the beef is the best. I'm no expert on southern food but you don't need to be, just come here and enjoy.

Took an out-of-town friend here and it was great. Made a reservation, which I'd advise you do. Got the three-meat tray and all delicious. Drinks were good and generous. Prices fair. Three things to note: 1. If you're looking for someplace quiet and intimate, this isn't it! It's a small happenin' place that's crowded and loud. 2. Although the food... More

The brisket sandwich is awesome. Good sides, fresh biscuits with butter. This place gets busy with good reason. It also has a bar with creative drinks.

Delicious BBQ in Boston. Was pleasantly surprised. Friendly staff, good service, quick turnover of tables which is good. It could be larger for the amount of people always there. Plenty of food to bring home for leftovers!!!!!!!

We have eaten here several times (mostly takeout) and have found the food to generally be excellent. The biscuits are just about the best around and pulled pork is tasty and tender. This last visit, however, we decided to branch out. BIG MISTAKE. The fried chicken was tender but had absolutely 0 flavor. The crust was thin, a bit soggy... More

I have been to several Tex Mex places around the country and Sweet Cheeks is pretty good. I won't say amazing as I have had amazing, but for being in the northeast, this is good. One of the more popular choices is the "tray". You get a choice of meat (server said it was 8oz.) and then a choice of... More

I visited on a Wednesday night. Tables were quickly turning over. Food was coming out quick. The serves seemed large and since I was staying at a hotel and wasn't interested in leftovers I was daunted by what to order. I spoke with the server and he recommended that I could make my own tray - get some 1/4 pound... More

When I went to this restaurant two years ago, I remember the portions being absolutely enormous--stunning quantities of meat. My recent visit was slightly disappointing--they seem to have downsized the sheer amount on a tray. However, the quality of meat remained incredibly high. They've got a great selection of cocktails to boot.

Staying in Fenway / Kenmore

Neighborhood Profile
Fenway / Kenmore
The Curse of the Bambino may have ended years ago, but loyal Red Sox fans will continue to infiltrate this home to historic Fenway Park, where you can find victory banners, people yelling in stereotypical Boston accents, and lots of sports bars. Located within Kenmore Square, the old gas station Citgo sign is another Boston skyline classic seen throughout the city. In addition to a hectic and diehard sports mentality, this neighborhood is also home to some of Boston’s many universities. Move from Boston University territory to that of Northeastern, and spend time at the famous Museum of Fine Arts. For more culture, check out the smaller but equally beautiful Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. Continue off the beaten path and check out the green space in the Back Bay Fens, a pretty community garden. This diverse neighborhood has a mix of universities, sports, culture, and more residential green space.
