Description: Legal Sea Foods was born in 1950 as a fish market in Inman Square...
Legal Sea Foods was born in 1950 as a fish market in Inman Square, Cambridge that expanded in 1968 into a no-frills restaurant where guests sat on picnic tables. The first floor hull of Legal Harborside celebrates this heritage and features a casual restaurant and market. Here you'll enjoy an all-day menu of seafood favorites with a twist as well as shareable plates, pastas and pizzas made to order in an open kitchen. Choose to eat at one of the picnic tables for an authentic throwback experience or grab a seat at the oyster bar and watch our shuckers at work (up to 14 varieties of oysters are offered daily). A large elliptical bar offers both wine and local beers on tap. Patio seating, along Boston's HarborWalk, affords a clear view of the Boston Fish Pier, the oldest working fish pier in the country, and the city skyline. Be sure to visit our market where you can find a selection of grab-and-go favorites, take-out from our menu and shop for fun gear. Also, on weekends from 11am - 1pm, kids under 12 are invited to try "catch and release" fishing in our lobby trout pond. Visit our second floor dining room for celebratory eating and our roof deck for drinks and small bites.

I used to often eat at Legal when I was a college student 30 years ago. I loved it then---especially the fried clams. Now....Yuck. Not sure if my palate has grown more picky, or if I should have stuck with the fried clams, or if they have gotten worse. I ordered the shrimp pad thai. Not sure why. I have... More

Love this place! Amazing view of the harborside and great food. I visit Boston quarterly and Legal is always a must. Great sushi and nightlife on the top level and more relaxed/dinner environment on the first level.

Legal Harborside gives three floors of different menus, styles and price points. The first floor is designed to be a no-frills casual restaurant with an unadorned atmosphere. The second floor is more elegant (although not formal) and should be better suited for a date night occasion. The third floor is a lounge/bar which opens onto an open deck in the... More

I was dining alone and went up to the roof on a Wednesday night. I was very comfortable being alone and the view was amazing. It was a little pricey but worth every penny for the view.

Tuna crudo tacos are a standout along with crab and lobster salads and rolls. Grilled, broiled or baked fish of every variety freshly prepared. Drinks are well prepared. Stop by the rooftop bar for... More
