Description: Legal Sea Foods was born in 1950 as a fish market in Inman Square...
Legal Sea Foods was born in 1950 as a fish market in Inman Square, Cambridge that expanded in 1968 into a no-frills restaurant where guests sat on picnic tables. The first floor hull of Legal Harborside celebrates this heritage and features a casual restaurant and market. Here you'll enjoy an all-day menu of seafood favorites with a twist as well as shareable plates, pastas and pizzas made to order in an open kitchen. Choose to eat at one of the picnic tables for an authentic throwback experience or grab a seat at the oyster bar and watch our shuckers at work (up to 14 varieties of oysters are offered daily). A large elliptical bar offers both wine and local beers on tap. Patio seating, along Boston's HarborWalk, affords a clear view of the Boston Fish Pier, the oldest working fish pier in the country, and the city skyline. Be sure to visit our market where you can find a selection of grab-and-go favorites, take-out from our menu and shop for fun gear. Also, on weekends from 11am - 1pm, kids under 12 are invited to try "catch and release" fishing in our lobby trout pond. Visit our second floor dining room for celebratory eating and our roof deck for drinks and small bites.

Seafood with a view

I had several people tell me to try Legal and how good it is so my expectation was high. I tried their claim chowder and a special of Halibut. The food was good but it wasn't blow me away good. Maybe my expectation was too high. The halibut was a nice 10 oz steak and part was light like it... read more

The dining room is open to the outside seating so you can see the harbor while you dine. The food was so fresh and delicious I savored each bite! It was a bit pricey for me, but I discovered you get what you pay for. This was money well spent.

I always enjoy coming back to Legal Seafood, and having old favorites. This was especially nice as we were able to eat outside right on the water--much more pleasant than eating on the sidewalk.

While in Boston for one evening, my family and I went to dinner at Legal Seafoods Harborside on the recommendation of a friend who lives local. She did not steer us wrong! The food was wonderful and I completely enjoyed my wine flight, salad and pasta dish. The atmosphere was a bit noisy, and the tables are close together, but... More

Best, fresh, delicious seafood, well trained staff, top flight operation. Can't go wrong any time. Never had any food here in several times that was not very tasty and well prepared.

We enjoyed drinks on the rooftop bar with beautiful views of the Harbor. The stunning views are worth the rather high cost of the drinks. A great way to spend a few hours in Boston.

I was in from out of town and heard great things about Legal Seafood and how great their lobster and lobster rolls are. Unfortunately this location does not serve them. I was a little underwhelmed with the menu but the food was good...not great...for the price. Our waiter was fantastic and very attentive. Make reservations to sit outside, it has... More

Two legal seafood restaurants, Harborside and South Boston. Loved both! We live in Arizona chowed down on their wonderful lobsters and even better soft shell piss clams wine and Martini's

I was looking for a sample of local seafood, coming form South FL and Legal Seafood, Harborside delivered. The roasted giant oysters were amazing, delicious clam chowder, and a plump and delicious lobster roll.

There are several Legal Seafood restaurants in Boston, but not next to the waterfront like this one. The place was packed as it should for a Friday afternoon. But my husband and I had a reservation and had a table ready for us on the casual first floor. This restaurant has three floors each one of them unique and tailored... More
