Description: Legal Sea Foods was born in 1950 as a fish market in Inman Square...
Legal Sea Foods was born in 1950 as a fish market in Inman Square, Cambridge that expanded in 1968 into a no-frills restaurant where guests sat on picnic tables. The first floor hull of Legal Harborside celebrates this heritage and features a casual restaurant and market. Here you'll enjoy an all-day menu of seafood favorites with a twist as well as shareable plates, pastas and pizzas made to order in an open kitchen. Choose to eat at one of the picnic tables for an authentic throwback experience or grab a seat at the oyster bar and watch our shuckers at work (up to 14 varieties of oysters are offered daily). A large elliptical bar offers both wine and local beers on tap. Patio seating, along Boston's HarborWalk, affords a clear view of the Boston Fish Pier, the oldest working fish pier in the country, and the city skyline. Be sure to visit our market where you can find a selection of grab-and-go favorites, take-out from our menu and shop for fun gear. Also, on weekends from 11am - 1pm, kids under 12 are invited to try "catch and release" fishing in our lobby trout pond. Visit our second floor dining room for celebratory eating and our roof deck for drinks and small bites.

A real happening place

Always legal, always fresh and great. When you want reliability and consistency it's a go to. When you visit Boston, it's a must.

Legal Seafoods has been around way too long to need a recommendation, but we really enjoyed lunch here. It was crowded, as always, but we could get a seat at the bar looking out over the harbor. Great way to enjoy a beautiful day in June. A little high-priced but well worth it.

I love the bread. We only go to bottom level. Fantastic waitstaff. Food is wide ranging but you have to ask because so much is not on the menu. With all the restaurants to try during our Boston trips we still always return.

No reservations available; but, we snagged a table in the bar area looking out over the street. We will definitely return here when we come back to Boston. The buffalo shrimp appetizer was absolutely delicious. I ordered the trout bruschetta appetizer, unaware that the fish would be served raw. They were kind enough to take it back and put a... More

We've enjoyed Legal Seafood every time we visit Boston, so our concierge recommended Legal Harborside. We sat in the second floor in the bar, and were disappointed to find a limited menu there - no chowder, no crab cakes. The lobster bisque had a burnt taste. The salmon was average. The halibut tasted good but was in a bitter sauce.... More

As a diagnosed severe Celiac, I need to be overly cautious of where I dine when traveling. Legal Seafood Harbourside always comes through with A+ ratings. From the servers to management to ownership, they truly understand the importance of GF. Every step is taken to eliminate cross contamination. This place even has a scrumptious, lightly breaded fish fry, completely GF.... More

I have been here twice for business events. The company holding the event had flowing appetizers which included great raw bar seafood. All was excellent - oysters, clams, king crap legs, lobster. The shrimp was not great but it was huge! There was also dinner which included clam chowder, filet mignon and lobster tails... even being very full from the... More

excellent seafood! We had dinner at the Legal Test Kitchen the first night and the food was good but not served hot. At the Harbor-the food was hot AND delicious. no reservations-we sat at one of the small tables and felt there were more choices of dishes.
