Description: The second floor dining room at Legal Harborside offers a focused menu of cuisine prepared with sensible creativity for celebratory eating and private dining events. Chefs Robert Fathman and Rich Vellante helm the kitchen. Complementing the dinner menu is an aperitif cocktail list and a unique selection of artisan wines, each produced from a specific terroir representing some of the world’s most classic regions, from family-owned vineyards. Each of the vintages is unique to Legal Harborside within Massachusetts. The design of the restaurant takes full advantage of the harbor view and is reminiscent of a ship’s dining room, with a curved rosewood ceiling and glossy black columns inspired by the mast of a ship that anchor the space. A lounge off the grand spiral staircase and two oceanfront rooms, with recessing doors for privacy, are available for special events. An intimate patio with outdoor fireplace offers dining and drinks in-season.

I remember Legal Seafood as the gold standard of seafood restaurants. Quality fish. Interesting yet simple preparations. Great service. Interesting yet affordable wine list. Where did some of those elements go? The service is still there. Fast. Friendly. Well versed. How many places have you been that the server can rattle off complicated specials without as much as an "um"... More

Great seafood, but make sure you have a reservation. If you don't you can sit at the bar which is not bad either. Service was a bit slow for a weeknight.

While Legal isn't my first choice as a big seafood chain, it was the right and unregretted choice for a meet up with friends. First, they take reservations and have lots of room. Second, they have great service. Third, they can easily accommodate a finicky baby. And they have tons of options to suit so many tastes. While I still... More

We had such a delicious meal at Legal. The oysters were fresh and the menu descriptions of each type were bang on. Our lobster was so good...we had been looking forward to having it. The side dishes were also great...mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts (without the bacon). The sprouts were cooked to perfection! Creme brule and maple soft serve ice... More

We love this restaurant. Everything is fresh, service is great and the clam chowder is so good you might just need to have some shipped home. Make sure you have a reservation.

Stopped in for appetizers and cocktails on a lazy Friday afternoon, as we were staying across the street, at the Renaissance Waterfront. Legal Harborside and its staff did not disappoint. If you are a fan of the raw oyster, look no further. A full oyster menu awaits, replete with descriptions of taste and origin (Wellfleet was our personal favorite). Selected... More

First visit to Boston, went to the aquarium as one does, then looking for sea food and there it was, opposite. Excellent and friendly service, comfortable place, lovely food. Had some chowder, crab cake and lobster roll, all great and with very tasty sides. Highly recommended.

Went for drinks and appetizers on a gorgeous weathered Saturday afternoon. Got a nice table on the outside deck of the 3rd floor bar and ordered up some drinks & some appetizers. All was great except for our waitress who was not in the least bit friendly. Will go back again for sure, but just hope we get another waitress.

This restaurant is first rate! Every aspect of it is off the charts! I had the fish in the bag and my wife had the Portuguese Seafood stew, both were great! I had one more mug of clam chowder and a slice of really good Boston Creme Pie. A fantastic last dinner in Boston. Not to be missed when visiting... More

We ate at the bar on the top level, so certainly the experience would be different in the other two options. The sushi was good but service was terrible. It was not worth the view.
