Stopped for take-out on the way home from a day out & about in Southie. I had read about the place and seen tv bits on Chronicle and was interested. 4 pies and 2 sides ran about $35 which I thought at the time to be a bit expensive. They package the pies with heating instructions and staff was very... More

I thought coming there was risky because they serve mainly meat pies.. I ended up ordering one because that's its speciality from Australian culture. No regrets! The crust is perfectly made. I ordered beef stew pie and it was really good. The staff was friendly as well. Good service. So it is strongly recommended!

We celebrated my son-in-laws birthday here last Sunday. What a unique restaurant in a very unique area of Boston. The place is very casual. It features Australian food including traditional Australian meat and vegetarian pies. Burgers and seafood are also available along with a fine selection of beers. We had the Lamb shank pie. It was very good and reasonable... More

I don't know of any other Australian eateries in the area, so I was very curious about KO Pies. The East Boston location is right in the shipyard. You can drive right up to it, but you have to acknowledge the shipyard gatekeeper. It's sort of tucked away but it just adds to the unique atmosphere. Try the regular meat... More

We ate at the location right between the Boston Harbour Shipyard and Logan Airport. Pies were available frozen, heated, or room temperature. Excellent value and flavor! Small picnic table outside, bar inside. Grungy docks around the neighborhood, but this was a safe, clean island, suitable for families and parties in the small outside tent. Delicious! (open lunch, dinner, and later... More

It's interesting how we sometimes stumble upon great food finds. After taking our daughter to the Boston Museum of Science on a recent Saturday, we decided to eat at a small family run Italian restaurant in a blue collar neighborhood in East Boston, one that was featured a few years ago on the Food Network's "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" with... We used to get pasties (the english version of a meat pie) from a store in Sarasota Florida but shipping was more than the pasties. This is a better replacement....The pies are filled with meat and just the right size. I only wish that i could make a crust that tasted this good and was as flakey. My only critical... More

Rating this entirely as an aussie pie place - its really good. However, its tiny, limited and can have a line on an average lunchtime. If you are craving a pie and are close to Southie then its worth a trip. I loved my lamb pie and I'm sure the rest of the pies are good also.
