Description: Max Brenner, Chocolate by the Bald Man, the first restaurant entirely...
Max Brenner, Chocolate by the Bald Man, the first restaurant entirely devoted to chocolate, provides a "chocolate mood:" a person being surrounded by huge bricks, candles, pralines, colorful toy tins and crates filled with cocoa beans. Each person"s chocolate experience is exclusive to the individual as it brings out different emotions in each and every person. This can be experienced at our retail shop and dining room. In addition to our unique chocolate, we also offer delicious savory foods. Whether it is our famous Brenner Burger or Mac & Cheese, there will be something for everyone in the group!

On a cold windy day we decided to give this place another chance and what a mistake. We ordered the overpriced Fondant or at least what we thought was a Fondant as per the picture. It took 45 minutes, literarly, it was cold, disgusting taste and NOT a fondant at all. the center was hard! this was supposed to be... More

This was my first time visiting Max Brenner. The place was like a chocolate lover's dream. I had the Mac n cheese with bacon with a chocolate hazelnut milkshake and for dessert hot chocolate and churros with three different chocolate dips. They were all delicious even though it was kind of pricey but well worth it. I wouldn't mind coming... More

I dined in for breakfast one lazy Monday and was delectably surprised with the tastiness of the French Toast. Yum! Sweet... Yet not too sweet. I had come for the Italian hot chocolate...always seeking one in the US that was as spoon thick as Spain's. I found it! Delicious!

My colleague and I visited the Max Brenner location in Boston while attending a conference...three times. We stumbled upon it initially while exploring Boylston Street, which was within walking distance of our hotel. The second you walk in the scent of chocolate hits you, sending your taste buds into overdrive. The first time we walked in to check it out,... More

Had been waiting to try this place for a while. The "rep" is that everything on the menu contains chocolate. Doesn't seem to be true, but that's ok. Portions are generous. The decor is kitchy; almost seems as if the decorator tried too hard. The exposed pipes are painted brown and labeled "100% chocolate". Had a very good pasta salad... More

Max Brenner did not live up to the hype and I'm glad we went during Restaurant Week. Our server Curtis was fantastic and was completely accommodating on the failings of the rest of the restaurant. We had no flatware until we asked for it; no fondue forks until we asked (and I saw several fondues arrive WITH the forks). The... More

I did not come here for the chocolate. I came here to meet some friends that were already there and having dinner. I ordered the cuban sandwich, which was lacking flavor and nothing exciting to speak of. Service was inattentive and it was hard to get a water refill. That shouldn't be that difficult. We were seated up top by... More

Had lunch at Max Brenner during the winter with a friend. It was so cold outside it was like finding an Oasis in the desert (the exact opposite actually). We had hot chocolates for starters and really recommend it. Not only they were great, Max Brenner precisely got them at the temperature they should be. Good job MB! [+] Pros:... More

We really enjoyed dining here for brunch. The chocolate shoppe/ restaurant idea is great. The food was good and the atmosphere was super fun. Even though I'm not a chocoholic - a little hot chocolate for breakfast never hurt anyone! I would very much recommend this place to family and friends, and even look for it again in our travels!!
