Description: Max Brenner, Chocolate by the Bald Man, the first restaurant entirely...
Max Brenner, Chocolate by the Bald Man, the first restaurant entirely devoted to chocolate, provides a "chocolate mood:" a person being surrounded by huge bricks, candles, pralines, colorful toy tins and crates filled with cocoa beans. Each person"s chocolate experience is exclusive to the individual as it brings out different emotions in each and every person. This can be experienced at our retail shop and dining room. In addition to our unique chocolate, we also offer delicious savory foods. Whether it is our famous Brenner Burger or Mac & Cheese, there will be something for everyone in the group!

No bang for my buck!

I recently visited Max Brenner's in Boston's Back Bay, for a pre Valentine brunch. We've been many times before, but never for breakfast. I ordered the Killer Breakfast, scrambled eggs, 3 cheeses, veggies, home fries and sausage, all mixed up and served in a skillet priced at $15.99 It was ok, but I... read more

This is a chocolate-themed restaurant in the Copley Square section of Boston. I took my wife, two young kids, and my infant daughter. This is one of those places with lots of sugary treats and fancy drinks and desserts and the kids go gaga over it- think of Serendipity in NYC and you get the general idea. The place is... More

My daughter and I love Max Brenner NY and where so excited to see that there was also a restaurant in Boston. But, what a disappointment. The food was not at the level that we've experienced in NYC. Even my Chocolate Martini was blahh. The glass was sticky and the stawberry was old and wilted! The french fries where once... More

It's worth it to visit just to smell the chocolate air. Plenty of creative chocolate menu items and drinks.

DON'T walk in without a healthy appetite and a specific craving for chocolate, for while you can order plenty of non-chocolatey things off the menu, why, OH WHY, would you? Well, it's all good. But the chocolate array is dizzying... tantalizing... and ultimately very satisfying. Enjoy!!

I really wanted to like this place, I've heard such good things about it but I was disappointed. The waffle fries were cold after a long wait and tasted just like the Alexia waffle fries I get in the supermarket minus the $$$. The dessert menu is huge and looked so promising but totally let me down.I got a chocolate... More

We started off with proper food for dinner and saved all the chocolate for dessert, which was probably a good idea considering how full our tummy became later. We ordered a Fondue and "messy" banana something for dessert and they both were amazing. Lots of options and mixed tastes and extremely high sugar levels. Perfect holidays visit, Would definitely recommend... More

Bought a dark hot chocolate drink, which was really not as nice as I had hoped. My dad ordered a chocolate milkshake and even this wasn't nice. The waffle we had for dinner was also disappointing. They do have some nice mugs that can be bought. And it remains an interesting store.

Staying in Back Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
