After a five-year invitation, I have finally had the honor to dine at the beloved Italian Express Pizzeria. It was a beautiful rainy night, my friend and I took the blue line and got off at Maverick station and walked 7 minutes down Sumner Street before arriving at the Pizzeria. Express Pizzeria was fairly easy to locate through public transportation.... More

I had pretty high expectations for this place after reading many of the reviews. Unfortunately, my lunch was pretty unimpressive. They don't take credit cards so that was a bit of a pain. The garden salad is huge, two of us split one and couldn't finish it all. The lettuce was a bit old and brown. We ordered a half... More

My wife Joanne and I have been going to Italian Express ever since it opened. Jimmy and Jonathan take such pride in their food. Jimmy even spent months in Italy learning from the masters how to make a perfect gravy…and he succeeded. From the amazing meatballs, pizza or pasta dishes, you can't find better. Don't get ripped off by going... More

Jim and Jonathan are gracious hosts. The food is amazing. We tried the Eggplant Rolletini, Chicken Saltimbocca, Pizza and the best meatballs I have ever eaten.Huge portions. Italian Express Pizzeria is a quaint, small neighborhood restaurant. It is a great value and you will not leave hungry. We are planning another trip to East Boston soon and you can be... More

After seeing Italian Express Pizzeria on the Food Network we decided to take a trip down from New Hampshire. The food was incredible. The dish featured in the show (frutti de mare) was as good as advertised. The shrimp fra diavolo was just as spectacular. What made this experience special were the owners. Each of them during our visit stopped... More

What's a stop in Boston without pizza? Being a fan of pizza, I have not had pizza this delicious anywhere, not even California! This place is located not too far from the Hyatt Boston Harbor. The pizza is great and they have a variety to choose from. If you like simple cheesy pizza, this is a great place to eat!... More

My husband and I frequent Italian Express on a regular basis. The food never disappoints nor does the friendly and sincere attention each customer receives from owners and staff. A must for anyone looking for great food and good value. Rita and Gene
