Absolutely loved this place. Great atmosphere, great service and amazing food. I can't easily pick a favorite. I'm going to say the Clam Chowder because it changed my perception of Clam Chowder. Here is what we ordered. Fried oyster slider-crispy, flavorful, perfect size. First seafood slider. Fried clams-crispy, just the right amount of salt. Clam Chowder-my FIRST Clam Chowder I... More

My wife and I visited on a Tuesday night from out of town. We did not make a reservation but probably should have they were very busy, at any rate they got us in anyway(party of 4). I must say everything about this place was acceptional they service, the food, the drink. It was a little pricey but not my... More

food was very good - oysters were fresh, lobster roll was great. Prices, though, are bit on the high side. They don't have fountain soda, and the coke bottles are the small ones. Great decor, and right next to the Commonwealth Hotel.

I wanted to love Island Creek Oyster Bar. The location is great, in the Commonwealth Hotel. The interior is superbly designed - clean and contemporary - high energy atmosphere with lots of staff ready to assist. The music pulses and delivers a vibrant beat to the place without being obnoxious. Everything is perfect. The front of the house staff was... More

This is one of my favourite restaurants I have ever been to- the food is absolutely outstanding, innovative and traditional at the same time. Great oysters. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Good cocktails, fun ambiance and the cookies and milk dessert is so cold and SO cute. Can be very crowded so make sure you book your... More

I have been here before and certainly like the food most of the time. Most recent trip makes me doubt how this place can stay open. Valet and seated fine. Our waiter, came 20 minutes later with menu, no water. 20 minutes later comes in to take a drink order, I order two bottles of water, one still, one sparking,... More

Went after seeing their name continually on not-to-miss Boston restaurants. We arrive a bit early for a late lunch... Had to mill around for abt 10 minutes. When they opened we sat near the bar and had a great server:: she knew her stuff! Made excellent beer and wine recommendations, helped us choose oysters and crudo, and was very professional.... More

We did not have a reservation (well, we did but it ended up being too early for all of us), a crazy notion when trying to get into this restaurant. Even on a Monday I would say never chance this restaurant without booking in advance. As luck would have it they had an available absolutely amazing large round table in... More

My wife and i just went here on Saturday afternoon after having it referred to us by someone else. It was good. We shared a Lobster roll first time we have ever tried one and it tasted good and the roll was fresh. Also shared fried oyster sliders which were also good. Everything is prepared as if you are in...
