Very busy on a Monday night

Our table was ready, big restaurant but was pretty full. Shared a clam chowder which admittedly was small but we had eaten a few hours earlier. My sea bass was delicious, big portion as was my husbands salmon. Strange wine menu and quite expensive. We shared a dessert - Bill came to $160... read more

I found it very convenient that Island Creek Oyster Bar had reservations available via OpenTable, considering many other popular restaurants required waiting in line. They also called a day or 2 before to confirm. This was our first stop on our Boston visit, and we totally pigged out. Our least favorite was the calamari uni butter chorizo spaghetti appetizer (the... More

When visiting Boston, this is one of our favorites. The atmosphere is fantastic, always lively. At 11pm the dining room is still packed so remember to book a reservation. Obviously, a great place for oysters. But I'm confident that everything on their menu is prepared well.

We sat at the bar and devoured the home-made bread and lobster bisque while watching the oyster bar maestros shucking at a rapid-fire pace. The restaurant has sophisticated decor, and good food to match. The bar tenders were cheerful and attentive.

This restaurant is a place to be on Tuesday night - every table was taken, and it was busy, but great atmosphere. We waited for around 40 minutes at the bar and the table was ready. We ordered sharing seafood selection with oysters and lobster, and then shared oyster risotto. It was a great dinner, lovely company and a great... More

Island Creek Oyster Bar is the best restaurant in Boston, hands down. The food is phenomenal and the service is even better.

The choice of oysters was of course excellent, and the signature lobster roe pasta was delicious, but the highlight of the meal was the Indiana trout and the tile fish collar (very unique), both of which were cooked to perfection where the meat was tender, juicy and not over-seasoned. The lobster roe pasta was an interesting dish - a modern... More

This was one of the best meals I have had anywhere. We started out with oysters, lobster bisque and hake chowder. All were splendid! The Island Creek oysters are the best I have ever had and I have eaten oysters all over the world. They were cold and plump with a hint brine - PERFECT! My wife and daughter had... More

We booked a table for 5:30 which was only time a reservation would be had for a family table of 6 persons. After our drinks and appetizers were served it was as if we were invisible and had to ask for the next course to be served. Apparently this poor service is not the case consistently, other friends went next... More

Do not miss this restaurant . The oysters were fabulous . The hake soup was delicious. The buttermilk biscuit for the table was heaven. All of the entrees were delicious. The service was friendly but too busy. The music was too sixties/techno and too loud. Would return!
