Excellent soul food...but music too loud

Excellent food...we ordered appetizers, entrees and dessert and no one was disappointed with their choices. We went on a Saturday night, 7 pm reservation and there was live music which was way too loud. The back room was probably better, but we were right next to the band and it was impossible to... read more

I went for Sunday brunch. The entertainment is really good and they had a nice jazz band playing which really made the atmosphere. I was a little disappointed by the food. It was average really and very limited selections. They had eggs with or without cheese, turkey bacon, breakfast sausage, french toast, fried chicken, rice and beans. They also had... More

If I lived in Boston this would be my local.. We had a great evening here. The staff were very friendly and offered some much appreciated menu tips. We started with sticky peach chicken wings. Words cannot describe. You must try these!! For main course it was the catfish tacos. Again you must try!! Great music throughout the evening. I... More

We had brunch and it was fabulous! Nice mix of breakfast and soul food. The ribs, sweet potatoes, and greens are to die for. Live jazz music was an unexpected pleasure. Eclectic artwork made for a cool ambience. We got there before they opened so we got in but many customers had reservations. So glad we had the experience.

I have been to Darryl's a few time before and both were pleasant experiences, although service was a bit slow both of those times as well. This time was Sunday brunch (3/1). We had a 12:30 reservation and got there promptly. The host explained that reservations were running a bit late - they hadn't forgotten our reservation but there were... More

The staff is so friendly. The general manager introduced himself to me as soon as I walked in. I genuinely feel like i'm at home when i'm here. The food is amazing. The burgers and wings are out of this world. Every time I leave Darryl's with my friends we rave on about how great it is and how we... More

Enjoyed elegant blackened tuna and gourmet hush puppies before heading to the Boston Pops. We will be back for the jazz brunch!

This was our first visit here. Service was competent and friendly although it was several minutes after our initial seating before we were greeted by a server. Food was very good: chicken and catfish nicely done. Sides were fine. Hush puppies were very dense/heavy but OK. Good cocktails. On the night we were here, the restaurant was VERY noisy even... We made a reservation as we were a party of 10. We were sat promptly. Let me get to the one thing I didn't like. We had a 5:30 reservation and the host told me that we had to be out of the table by 7:30 this was before we were even seated. I wasn't a fan of that. We... More

Great surprise....while visiting the south side, we were looking for a late bite, we thought we'd try out Darryl's. Great atmosphere with a 3 piece jazz group. Food choices were awesome but loved the catfish as well as the pancetta burger with fried egg. This was quite the treat!
