Great lobster roll

Walking around the harbour area, popped in here for quick bite. Had both the chowder and lobster roll - both excellent. Lots of seafood and very fresh tasting. It's also a supplier and fishmonger so lots to look at when sitting there. Not elegant or fancy, but on my trip to USA this was the... read more

If you are a tourist walking the Greenway or work right in the neighborhood, this is a great spot for 'lobsta' rolls or clam 'chowda.' Both are fresh and delicious. On the other hand, I wouldn't make a special trip just to get lunch at James Hook. Why? Frankly, there are other places that serve just a good lobster rolls... More

very tasty lobster bisque! you can eat in and also to go. there are ketchup, horseradish and all the trimmings.

My quest for the best lobster roll has ended! Slightly toasted buns, just the right amount of carbs to accommodate the freshest chunks of lobster tossed in just the right amount of mayo. Everything to highlight great lobster meat. I also had the bisque, and that too, was simply amazing. They have some seats in and out of the store.... More

A wonderful dining experience. These people really know how to cook a lobster... It was delicious. Cooked to perfection and moist while still sweet like only those from the cold water. If you like lobster, I highly recommend this dining establishment.

Although it doesn't look like much, just a trailer by the water, this place is amazing! The line was fairly long, which almost discouraged us, but it moved at a decent pace. We had the lobster roll, clam chowder, and a whole lobster. It was so fresh and delightful! You walk into the trailer, where they have lobsters sorted by... More

To walk down Atlantic avenue, perhaps toward Quincy Market looking for lunch, you might be tempted to walk past a small Trailer. At first blush it appears to be a seafood supplier which it is in part, but so much more. Do yourself a favor. Walk in and you will be treated to a specialty you could only find in... More

The staff is great and the food is awesome. I only give it -1 point because the crab roll with light mayo that I ordered had too much mayo on it. Also, hey Boston, try heating a crab roll up. I bet it tastes even better. Anyhow its a fun place to go family or friends for some straight-off-the-boat seafood... More

Ryan, I'm glad that you loved the food, and I definitely understand your point about the crab roll. We serve the crab in a traditional style, but if you'd like us to heat it up for you, we'd be happy to oblige! I hope to see you back for more. Yours, John M., Owner More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
