Description: It is the philosophy of BarLola, where one can simultaneously drink, enjoy Spanish music, mingle, and eat ones way round a wonderful gastronomic spectrum. It is our goal to make sure that we only serve authentic dishes that are as close to the original presentation and taste as those you would find in different regions of Spain. We have a fantastic selection of wines, cavas, beers, and other signature cocktails to accompany your meal. We make every effort to ensure that the majority of our key ingredients are imported from Spain. Our kitchen team members come from Spain, descendants of Spain or of Latin ancestry to ensure authenticity and standards. ***NOTE: Every Sunday evening we have live Flamenco shows Sunday Night at 8pm. Please note that there is a $20 minimum per person (toward food and drink) for the show. It will be assumed that all reservations made 7pm and 8pm are for the show. If you will not be joining us for the show, please let us know*

Many restaurants have tried to succeed at this location on Commonwealth Avenue, but sooner or later they all seem to fail. I expect Bar Lola will experience the same fate. The tapas style food is just OK. The bar is odd - one feels like there are 20 people who go there every night and if you aren't one of... More

The food was ok, and the prices werent crazy.....but what is this place? Is it is trying to be a nice French restaurant? If so, the rowdy bar area doesnt really match. The service does match the bar area though. My wife is pregnant, she asked our waiter if they had any "mocktails" or a cool drink without alcohol. His... More

a very tasty tapas restaurant in the back bay area. there is a large selection of tapas to choose from, all at very reasonable prices. service is very efficient, and the staff is helpful in describing the different tapas. make sure to get a pitcher of sangria, too.

Great little tapas bar tucked away in the Back Bay. There's a real European feel here despite the obligatory plasma screen TV showing baseball. Wine list is limited for a tapas bar and I didn't sample the food but I loved the boisterous, European vibe... hard to find in Beantown!

Having suffered disappointment elsewhere in Boston's Back Bay on the Sunday night in question, and having difficultly finding a place open due to the (in European terms) ridiculously early closure of restaurants, we ended up in Bar Lola. Swiftly seated (well, it wasn't busy), we chose some food and some sangria. The later came first and it was definitely punchy.... More

I was here for a bachelorette dinner. There were about 20 of us and we had a private lounge area with comfy seats (sofa-like) and nice "mood" lighting. As a group, we were able to choose 7 different tapas to be put out on a table for us to help ourselves. The food just kept coming and was always hot and... More

We arrived around 9pm, and they were more than four free tables. The girl in the door, sent us to the bar, made us to wait for 20 minutes until she decided to take us to the table. After 30 minutes, nobody came to take our orders, drinks or foot. We didn't eat, we decided to leave, but checking the... More

Food seems to be pre packaged as opposed to a few years ago where the tapas were innovative, fresh and made by a kitchen/chef that enjoyed cooking. We had the fried prawns - they seemed to have been previously frozen- the batter was soggy. Don't try the raviolis with blueberry sauce- they use to be wonderful-but now they are just... More

Lovely atmosphere, decent service, pretty good food. Though there was nothing extraordinary about the food, the server was very helpful and the room was nicely decorated. All in all I thought it had a good vibe and would return.

I have previously only come here to eat either lunch or dinner. Recently I came later in the evening on a Saturday just for drinks. Where the drinks are quite pricy, and the space set up better for eating, it wasn't the best for late Saturday night. They did have music and the lights were turned down low for a... More
